South Loop Market - Sheffield Ave — Local services in Lake View Township

I have been to South Loop Market many times to pick up lunch. They are 2 1/2 blocks from the clinic I work at. Address is 2955 N. Sheffield Ave. Think of S. Loop Market as a very, very upscale 7-ELEVEN. They have every you might need at the last minute and more. They have breads, cereals, fresh fruits and vegetables. They have a cooler full of soda pop, juices, waters and alcoholic beverages. The have a full service deli. The best part is the Grill located towards the back of the store. Choose from made to order breakfast sandwiches, salads, and other delicious sandwiches and wraps. Try the Pattymelt, it's one of the best. My favorite made to order sandwich is the Beef Philly. I've usually ordered the Chicken Philly for a healthier choice. But last week I tried the Beef Philly with everything. It is the best Philly Cheese Steak I have ever had. Editing this review to be much lower. My husband went there and bought some mini ice cream drumsticks that he was very excited for, only to come home and find every single one inside was extremely freezer burnt and inedible, literally covered in ice crystals both inside the box and the wrappers. These had been there a while without being removed for quality/safety. The price on them was already super inflated but he really likes them and just grabbed them without thinking. Unfortunately he didn’t get a receipt and chose not to take them back. We will not be shopping here anymore. Who knows how old the food is?! They clearly don’t check these things. Prices here are already inflated but we chose to write it off as a convenience. Not anymore. Do not trust this...

Have been there around 20 times at least as I live in the neighborhood. The hired staff is really friendly and treats you well. Selection is good with a big premium on the prices because of the store's convenient location.

However one of the guys who is owning the store (wearing a base ball cap most of the times) has been treating me very rude twice now when asking for something which was behind the counter and which he had to grab.

I work with customers every day myself. That is not how you treat your clients. The guy comes across highly untrained and does not seem to care at all.
