The lady that looks 45-60 years old with the orangish bleach blonde hair a little longer than shoulder length was extremely rude to me during curbside pickup. I had placed two separate orders and when I hit the “on my way button” to pick up the order someone must have accidentally hit that I picked up the order right away…no big deal at all, technical difficulties happen all the time. So I go to the curbside pickup having both notifications that my orders were ready but one was already picked up, so I decided to call and explain the situation. This lady answered and was extremely rude from the start and interrupted me the moment I said “hi I’m here to pick up two orders for curbside for so and so” and told me she was still packing my order even though I had both email confirmations that they were ready for pick up and wouldn’t listen to my story about both orders at all and only brought out one. When I told her about the second order she told me there was no order with the most unnecessary attitude for some reason, because calling for a curbside pickup after having technical difficulties is such a big situation for her to handle I suppose? She gave me attitude claiming my order just didn’t exist I showed her my order numbers and she again with attitude said “I’ll have to look for it then” and came out with a order that in fact did exist. I shop here all the time. My income is based on items I make and sell and a big portion of supplies I need do come from your store in Chicago ridge, but I don’t think any customer would want to deal with such a rude and nasty person when there wasn’t even a issue present until she had such a nasty response and attitude for no reason at all. I’ve worked in retail and I completely understand having a bad day and not being yourself sometimes but this old lady was just nasty and shouldn’t work in retail if your first response after someone was kind to you is to be unnecessarily nasty. I will be contacting corporate as well cause the whole situation was so unnecessary. All the other employees at Chicago ridge are always so kind and helpful and actually happy to assist and talk to guests so it’s sad to see Michaels hiring people like that. I will definitely be reconsidering shopping at the Chicago ridge location if I’ll have to deal with people like that...
Read moreNEVER have them do custom framing for you. I had my license, grad school diploma, undergrad diploma, and certificate framed by them. They told me it would take 7 days. 2 weeks later, having heard NOTHING, I called to check on my order. They said that 2 frames were back, but that the other two were damaged and had to be re-done. They do their framing in TEXAS, by the way, so it takes forever. I asked why no one notified me, and they had no explanation. They said they'd call when the fixed 2 came in so that I could pick up all 4 together. They said it would take 4 days. Another seven days later, having heard nothing, I called only to find out that they were, in fact, there. I picked them up, got them home, only to discover that 1 out of the 4 had the WRONG MATTING and doesn't match at all. I called and complained. No apology for the hassle or the mistake (after 3 weeks). They said that I'll have to bring all 4 of them back in to have them re-ordered, and it will take another 2 weeks!!! I told them it was a huge hassle to bring all 4 back, to which they said nothing. No apology. Nothing. I told them I was extremely dissatisfied because this has been such a mess, has taken a month, and was extremely expensive ($1,000). Still, they said nothing. No apology, no offer of a partial refund... nothing. If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. Save yourself the headache and deal with someone who cares-- NOT Michaels. I'll never be back to this store on Clark Street again-- that is, after I have my framing project fixed, which will probably take another 2 months and endless calls and...
Read moreI had terrible experience with Michaels today and I won't ever come back to shop there again. We were making Mothers Day gifts with my kids in the classroom. I went to Michaels yesterday to bought some mugs so we could paint them. Each mug comes in the carton box with paint and a little brush. I used to buy them couple years ago and they were good, so I bought them again. I bought 16 mugs after work and carried them home on the bus and ten in the morning I carried them back to work. When I opened one of the boxes at work and got the paint out I have noticed that paint was dry , it was old... I opened another one and the other one was dry as well, I decided to return all the mugs back to Michaels. When I brought all these mugs back and told them the issue, the lady didn't even apologize, she gave her attitude instead. She looked at two opened boxes and said that they are not going to return the money back for these two because they were opened! I told her that nothing wasn't used , everything was in the box in the box , everything was clean. I'm returning them because I opened them and realized the paint was old and dry. She didn't even listen to me, didn't give me the mugs back , or even asked me if I want to take them back because they have been opened, she just didn't return my money and took them away.... I was too stressed out to deal with it and with this terrible attitude she gave me! I don't understand how people like that can work in the store . I didn't only lost money but time, since I had to buy something else now , obviously not on this store any more. Happy Teacher...
