I'm sorry to have to leave such a negative review but three days ago I walked in seeking a trim. Dorothy was available and I heard so many positive things about her and how she's the top stylist for curly hair.
My hair has been cut multiple times by different stylists but every time I get a "trim" the stylist gets carried away with layering my fine frizzy hair and putting in too many short layers and taking weight off the bottom.
Dorothy ended up disappointing me by taking too much weight of the bottom and adding in too many short layers which is what I was trying to slowly grow out. She claimed I had too many "Split ends" but honestly my natural texture is frizzy and wavy with curl at the ends. My hair needs weight in order to form a ringlet. She cut my hair dry upon my request but removed weight šŖ
Fortunately today I saw the mistakes after getting my hair wet. My hair was very frizzy and the curl pattern non existent. I'm happy that the manager Crystal issued me a complete refund but her commentary was unnecessary. She mentioned I didn't seem happy with my haircuts and yes it's true because my favorite stylists I trusted left Chicago years ago and no one seems to understand that with my hair texture less is more meaning the fewer layers the better. My hair needs to be shaped and not over layered. Crystal merely stated ulta salon is not for me and I'm in full agreement. I'm sure if hee hair was over layered and too much length chopped off she wouldn't be happy either.
I'm done with this location the people who work here clearly Don't understand how their customers feel. Fortunately when I got home today I literally cut off a quarter of an inch off the bottom myself and was successfully at giving myself a more rounded layer at the bottom and added the weight back. Curly wavy hair looks best with rounded layers and not square layers. Dorothy just cut way too much and it took me months to get the length I was seeking. Some stylists don't know the art of dusting and shaping the hair.
I'm sorry to leave this review but my cut āļø was rushed and I Don't like thinned out hair. Someone on the street mentioned it was a shaggy wolf šŗ cut. I told Dorothy my goal was hair hitting my chest. This cut was meant for someone with a much thicker hair texture. Wolf cuts āļø don't look good grown out to the chest. End of rant ...I'm...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI tried twice to get service. I asked to try on some lipstick and they were kind enough to disinfect it for me. I joked about not knowing how to do it but they still left me alone at the counter to figure it out. I wouldnāt have minded if it was busy, but they were leaving me to get back to their conversation. I walked in hoping to get some help finding a good lipstick color, but no one seemed to want to help me. I was in the store about 20 mins and at no point was I offered assistance. When I asked for it, they did the bare minimum before leaving me. This is the second time this has happened in this store. The first time I thought it was a fluke but I guess it is not. I would have pursued more help, but I saw about 4 other customers come and go during the time I was their and they got far better treatment. They were asked if they needed anything, and they were helped with choosing their cosmetics. I was not given such treatment, and I assume it was because I didnāt look rich. Jokes on them because I had $100 of stuff in my bag that I was prepared to buy. Seeing all those customers get help without asking left a bad taste in my mouth. I wanted to leave but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I wanted to see how close I could get to them before they would say something. I stood next to an employee for about 5 mins while she talked with another employee about what they wanted for dinner and which brand they hated the most in the store. Honestly at this point, Iād given up on buying anything and just wanted to mess with them. I stood there, trying to find a good lipstick, until she moved away. She never stopped her conversation to acknowledge me.
I hate writing reviews like this. I only write this because I didnāt buy anything, and Iām afraid that confirms the stereotype of people who look like me. I want to make clear that I walked in planning to buy and walked out severely disappointed. Never judge a lipstick-less book...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really donāt like this ulta. Always out of products ( today the whole brand of wax strips I use is out, my Burtās bees moisturizer, and my eye cream)
Then the service team is terrible: last visit I spent almost $200 , the cash wrap woman was painfully awkward and tried to say ā whatās a few points off your credit score?ā When I denied 3 times a store card. Are u kidding me. The small guy with colorless hair tried an even dumber tactic last time to convince me. Please tell your associates to stop giving out credit advice . They donāt know jack and are straight lying.
Prior to this awkward check out, I wandered around the store so unsure what to do about foundation. I asked the manager for help ( pretty sure sheās eithe a.m or the man.) and she was friendly and gave quick recommendations. She didnāt get anyone to color match me, which is fine , I said Iāll figure it out. But ended Up really hating the foundation I ended up with. Went and returned it today, she saw me returning and didnāt bother to ask if I want help to find a new one. She remembered me too! She said hi!
So ... great service! Really doing you job selling people products they are suppose to love.... anyways, I went to the aisles to check for my products before leaving, all out. She is doing customer checks, sees me ducks away and DOENT ASK ME ANYTHING. like , I was so easy the first time she helped me. Why the hell are you avoiding an EASY sale!?
I just walked out with my store credit , Iāll spend it online or another store. Done with...
