Parrots Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Lake View Township

The owner profiled me extremely hard, saying I was off drugs and kicked me and all my friends out when we were about to leave anyway (it was St Patrick’s day weekend, had a long day out, was tired). We were literally just watching the F1 race, which was 1 lap away from ending before we were so rudely interrupted. Not as if there weren’t plenty of other tweakers, people making out and being way too touchy, and people extremely drunk all around, this man chose to profile ME for straight up chilling. My friends obviously stood up for me, after all I was paying my hard earned money for only 2 drinks. The man said my “mannerisms” were indicative that I was off drugs, when I was simply tired and trying to enjoy my night with my friends while I was in the city for a short while. After my friends had stood up for me, the owner shoved one of my friends and threw his drink all over other guests, pushing my friend into our female friend who was considerably smaller, having no regard for any of the guests whatsoever or making a scene in front of everyone (where everyone was clearly perturbed by the man’s apparent ego trip). Whoever this man is, I sincerely hope he finds God, because I wouldn’t wish what happened to me at this bar to my worst enemy. Not a very welcoming place. We came as a small group for some drinks and pool on a Sunday; it was my first time coming here. One group of regulars were walking around like they owned the place, hogging the pool table and having a super loud conversation to the point we could hardly hear each other. We asked to have the table once their game wrapped up, but they insisted that we play a round of doubles against them instead. During that game, they intentionally played super fast to get us out of there quicker. Then when they started playing by themselves again, they of course went at a leisurely pace.

At one point during the middle of their game they left for another section of the bar. We waited 10 minutes for them to come back, and then we just started playing our own game. A few of the regulars came back and were kind of nosy, asking us questions and talking about us when we were just trying to enjoy our game in peace. We left after just one game.

Even though the pool table is free and the drinks are decent, the standoffishness of the regulars makes me not...

I have to add an edit. First, the owner updated the menu and it is absolutely next level. Second, I tried their smash burger yesterday. It was beyond excellent. The flavor was incredible. It was built perfectly. You could pay twice as much and not get a better burger in the neighborhood. And it’s all made by hand. And on top of all that…and I value service over food…the service is always excellent and the atmosphere is always what I look forward to as well. They have yet to disappoint me. This is one of only two bars I go to anymore. I could not recommend more. If you haven’t already, check it out! You will be happy you took my advice.
