My first experience at Lakeland Volkswagen is when I was purchasing my Certified Pre Owned 2017 Volkswagen GLI. When I arrived, I quickly noticed that much of the staff weren’t wearing a mask. I came to the dealership knowing the exact car that I wanted on their lot. However, when I asked to see the car, my original sales associate was hesitant to show it to me. After I got them to let me test drive the car, I was told that my sales associate was passing me onto another one. This new sales associate was very nice and helpful. He made me feel confident about my purchase. The finance department was extremely rude. I had to bite my tongue many times in order not to start yelling at them. At this point, I just wanted to leave the dealership and not give them my business. After purchasing the car, I soon realized that one of the LED DRLs was out, as well as, my center screen had bubbles in it. When I took it back to the dealer, they ordered the parts and told me it would take about 3-5 business days. After almost 2 weeks, I call to get an update on my parts. They tell me that they’ve been sitting there for about 3 days and I was never notified. When showing up to get my headlight and radio replaced, they informed me that they only had the headlight in stock and the radio would take another week. They ended up replacing the headlight without charging me anything. However, when I came back for the radio, they charged me $50 as a “deductible” even though they hadn’t charged me for the headlight assembly. After about 3 days using the new radio, I noticed that the microphone wasn’t picking up my voice. When I brought it to Kuhn Volkswagen by my home in Tampa, they ran all of the codes and told me that Lakeland Volkswagen must’ve installed it wrong. When I brought it back to Lakeland Volkswagen this morning, they bring the car into the shop, and about 45 minutes later, a service manager comes out and tries to tell me that there was nothing wrong and that he connected his phone and everything worked just fine. I kindly responded, “Sir, I know it didn’t take you 45 minutes to connect your phone to Bluetooth and make a call.” I then made them check the car’s voice control just to make sure that the microphone was working and yep, you guessed it, the microphone still wasn’t working. After another 15-20 minutes back in the shop the service manager comes out again and claims that my Apple CarPlay charger was interfering with the vehicle’s voice control. This was infuriating because they’re trying to claim as if they didn’t make an error installing the radio and it was all user error. At this point, I will NEVER come back to Lakeland Volkswagen! They shouldn’t treat their customers as if they are stupid and lying to them acting as if they didn’t take out my radio and fix...
Read moreI took my car to this Volkswagen because I have an oil leak. I have had two oil leaks in the past that I have gotten “fixed” there. It was a 1300$ job and now it’s leaking for a third time. Now they’re saying it’s leaking in four different places and it’s gonna be 3200$. I also asked if I were to have to leave my car could they give me a loaner. They told me no they wouldn’t which is very disappointing since they are the dealership and have in the past given me a loaner when I didn’t have a warranty anymore. They must have new management or something because the customer service was terrible. I couldn’t afford the price to fix it there so I told them I’m going to have to pick my car up and take it to Orlando Volkswagen cause they said it would be cheaper which is also inconsistent between stores. I asked them if they could just top off the oil before I picked up the car because I’m still paying 179$ just for them to have looked at the car when the diagnostic fee used to be 99$. They responded with saying that it would be 12$ a quart to fill my oil. This just seemed outrageous and petty to charge when I’m struggling and still paying almost 200$ to just get my car looked at. Then I paid the fee and when I got my car the lady who gave it to me said that the front panel on the bottom of my car was gonna fall off so they just ripped it off from my car without telling me and said they didn’t have the parts to fix it. They just put it in my passenger car seat and I told them it was not hanging off and I clipped it back up and why would they rip it off without telling me. All she said was it was gonna fall off anyway. I’ve never had a worse experience at a car shop let alone the dealership. Very disappointed. I won’t be coming back here again, and this makes me never want to get a...
Read moreHad my car towed to this location for them to replace a tire that was slashed. They called to tell me it was ready, so the following morning had a family member drive us up there to pick up the car. Waited at the desk for about 15-20 minutes before someone even acknowledged me (there were several people behind the desk), they handed me the keys and said I was good to go. Thank God I checked the tire before leaving because the slashed tire was still on! I went back inside and asked what they did since it was not replaced, so they got the manager to go check it and she explained the WRONG TIRE WAS CHANGED!! I don’t even know how that happens… the manager did offer me a rental car, which I had to declined as going back and forth two days in a row for a 4 hour trip with my 3 and 6 year old is not ideal. She had them immediately take the car back to correct the mistake, which I am grateful for. But I just do not understand how that happens! Manager even confirmed on the paperwork the correct tire was noted as damaged but they completely ignored it and changed one of my good tires. This is the closest Volkswagen dealership to me but after that being my first experience with them, I would not take my car back there. On top of saying it would be $80+ to order a new wheel lock key with over $20 shipping to my house, which I know is not that expensive even through the...
