I honestly cannot believe this place is so highly rated because I legitimately have never had such horrendous experience at any other restaurant in all my life.
My friends and I arrived a few minutes before 7, at which that time we were supposed to have a reservation for a party of 6 for one of our friends bridal shower dinner. The restaurant seem to have misplaced it forgotten our reservation because they insisted they had no clue what we were talking about. After many confusing minutes if waiting and explaining multiple times to various employees there about th reservation, we were finally seated. However, after being seated, we would be waiting an additional 45 minutes to finally have a server come over and take our drink and appetizer order. Another 15-20 minutes we would get out drinks and ice cold appetizer. She woman insisted it was supposed to be cold bit we pointed out that on the menu it CLEARLY stated "steamed". She brought us another appetizer, but by that time we were just so frustrated and hungry we were ready to place our actual meal order, but the server had taken off before we could even mention it. Many more minutes we waited and tried to signal for someone, however nobody would come. One of our friends had to get up from the table and find someone just to come take our order. When the server showed up she was clearly impatient with us, she didn't seem to want to answer any questions about the menu or food, skipped over one of our friends entirely because he had said he wanted something called a "dynamite", she said they didn't have anything called then and moved straight on to the next person. He looked back at the menu and found it was called the "firecracker". In my opinion, as a server, she should have been to easily make that connection instead of skipping him entirely and only getting his order in at all because he had to get her attention again before she walked off. Our food took many more minutes, I'd say close to a half hour, 2 people in our group got their meals. Then another 20 minutes later, 2 more got their meals, then 15 minutes before closing (10pm. Remember, we started this WHOLE thing at 7pm) The server brings the last 2 dishes and IMMEDIATELY asked if we wanted them in boxes to go. We of course said no, we were so hungry and mad at this point, bee certainly were not also getting booted from the restaurant before we even got to eat. Of course the check came swiftly after this, but she hadn't bothered to ask if it was being split at all. And to save us from waiting on her even longer, we all just all agreed to pay it and pay each other separately. The server then brought us a basket of "complimentary calamari". Yeah, sure, 10 minutes before closing someone is making complimentary sides. It was chewing and not appetizing in the slightest. Clearly a sign of their way to get rid of some food at the end of the day. Other notes could include the servers very poor attitude and lack of attention. The restaurant was not overly busy as far as I could tell and it didn't appear they were short staffed, I had seen many servers and employees walking around, so I'm not sure why the service was so bad. The food is heavily overpriced for what you get and everything was mediocre at best. The menu apparently had many mistakes because some of us got things on our plates that were not mentioned and missing some things that were. I think most of us got other food on our way home because we were still hungry. Bathrooms are a walk through their storage area and their bathroom is rundown and kind of sketchy.
Some pros, though they're not worth bringing my rating up not even a half a star. The table rooms are private and quiet. The overall restaurant...
Read moreSo let me start off by saying the food was very good and the restaurant itself is a very cool place. Me and my friend came in to eat one afternoon a few weeks ago. It was not busy and they had two servers each waiting on the same tables. This is where the issue with our meal lied as everything else was good. There were other diners sitting across the aisle from us in another booth. We ordered tea and because it was delivered by a different server they took it to the other table. We at first thought maybe they also ordered tea but over the course of their meal they never touched it and we didn’t receive tea ourselves. The food started coming out and my friend’s meal was the last that needed to arrive. I saw a server go to the table across as they had also gotten food and I heard one of them say “oh I didn’t touch it though.” A few moments later the server turns around and puts my friend’s plate on the table. I instantly knew they had made a mistake and put the meal on the other table. My friend isn’t picky about others breathing on her food so we didn’t say anything. I hate wasting food but honestly they should have taken it back to the kitchen as it had been served to someone else. I personally wouldn’t have eaten it, if it was mine, after it was set down in front of complete strangers. I am leaving four stars here because I really think this place can be perfect if they have servers better coordinate and communicate between each other on where food is supposed to go. The door said it was under new management so hopefully this is something that will be ironed out with time and I will return at some point to...
Read moreThe food is great if you actually get it after you've ordered. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but tonight was a horrible experience and makes me never want to go back. I have been sick and not able to eat much lately, this was our first family dinner since Ive gotten better and we didnt feel up to cooking. Everything was going great, everyone ordered and dishes came one by one. I was being patient thinking of the fact maybe what I had ordered would take longest to cook, but my dinner never came. The waitress put down our pre ordered mochi in front of us with no care and complete oblivion to the fact I was the only one at the table who never received food. When brought to her attention she gave a sorry and said the dish was missing, and that everyone in the kitchen had left. I do realize it was the end of the night's service, but it's their job to assure the table is taken care of, and if they were not going to be able to provide the meals we ordered they should've never sat us at a table. They didn't offer any type of compensation or gesture for fixing it, simply gave us our bill for everything else and let us leave. I left hungry, very frustrated, and on the verge of tears due to...
