Little Brook Orchids — Local services in Lancaster Township

I've been meaning to check this green house out for years. But I never seemed to be on that end of town during hours of operation. I finally made it a point to stop in there for a birthday gift for my wife. I am a novice orchid grower. The only other orchid I own was from a box store discount rack. I've tended to that one for over a year and have seen success. Orchids have grown on me with that experience so I wanted to get my wife a gift that will bloom for many years to come. My friend and I made an order of a plant from this nursery. In first place, we wrote them a message and it took a while for them to respond. The price for the shipping of the plants was really expensive. Since we did not received a shipping tracking number, my friend called them back. At this time, when she requested a person to speak in Spanish, the person who answered the phone was not friendly. Poor customer service! The quality of the plants received and how they were potted did not reflect the cost of the plant. The plant was just a cut of 3 pseudo bulbs that were barely rooted and poorly potted. This beautiful greenhouse looks unassuming from the outside but actually is fairly large on the inside. This is not your standard corner store florist --- these are specialty orchids of all kinds! The staff is always very welcoming, the selection is good, and the plants have always been healthy and pest-free. I live 2.5 hour drive away, and I make it a point to come by at least once a year to pick up a new baby or two.
