Sometimes the best values are found in the not-so-common store, when in the market for furniture. Especially older, antique or collectible and does Don Sammons have the goods! I still have the first table I bought from Don in 1987 for $10. And today, my grandaughter was floored when she saw the equivalent of the wardrobe, similar to the one from the movie 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.' Of course that piece was a bit higher($350, I think). Magnificent! He also has Corning Ware, old record players, the ones with the hinged needles like RCA but without the huge bell. They are in a cabinet with a hinged lid, ceramics, collectible teddy bears, planters, rocking chairs, how about an antique wood/needlepoint toilet? Read moreThe first time I visited Sammon's Furniture, I was sure I had found The Holy Grail of antique furniture. I have never seen so many antiques in one place. I've bought a couple pieces at great prices. Mr. Sammons is so nice to chat with, even if I don't buy anything. The area is a little sketchy, but if you're situationally aware it's not a problem. I noticed a couple reviews that said Mr. Sammons is a lonely old man sitting in a dusty shop. So disrespectful, but they're entitled to their opinion, too.
