LPAC first time visit during April 2022. Very impressed! Pleasant concert and very comfortable seating. Driving from Los Angeles will take about 1hr. Highly recommend for concerts, worth driving to watch the show you want to see. Based on the list of events on their site and the staff approach to auduence that I experienced, my impression was that LPAC has wise management and very caring personnel. On the way to LPAC also drove on Civic Musical Road. You need to drive 55mph on the far left lane of the three-lane road. Was windy but with closed windows could hear very well the tones of Rossini's William Tell Overture Final. It's about 20 seconds section on the road but is fun (can make a U-turn and hear again and again). The road is only 10min away from LPAC. Since was in the area before 6pm, also stopped by at Apollo Community Regional Park, and had very enjoying break there around man-made small lakes and nature. Driving from Los Angeles, exit Magic Mountain Road from 5 freeway, if you want to see poppy blooming in spring in Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve (about 20min away from LPAC). There were beautiful flowers on the side of the road as well as on the hills on the left side of the road (with hiking options and views to a lake, hills and houses) about 10min before reaching...
Read moreThis venue is a nice size, clean, easy to navigate, and has comfortable seats. In the past 2 weeks, we’ve seen 2 different performances; The Nutcracker Ballet, and the Hometown Christmas. The Nutcracker was awesome, however, we were a bit disappointed in the Hometown Christmas. I’ve been significantly involved in church music programs, and understand and appreciate the time and effort everyone devotes, however, I feel the better venue for this performance would be an actual church building, and have a “free-will” offering instead of charging $17 per ticket. The real annoyance at both The Nutcracker Ballet and the Hometown Christmas, however, was the rudeness and inconsiderateness of the people in the audience. Audience members were having conversations without any regard to others around them. This is rude to both the performers and other people in the audience. Prior to the beginning of the performance people are reminded to silence/turn off their cell phones, etc....perhaps they need to be reminded to not talk during the...
Read moreThe ticket prices at the door paid in cash still have a two dollar ticket service charge so the theater can grab every extra bit they can. Both of their theater spaces are nice, but for a center that was intended to be for the community, they really seem to give a raw deal to the community theater and local groups for the space. Especially the events held in the black box space. To charge so much for a space that seems to usually be storage to local non profits and locals is not contributing to bringing the community together. As with most of the downtown Lancaster, the rents are far to high for businesses In that area. Especially when Rex Perris allowed one real estate company to own the entire block during the refurb. Av residents whine how they hate corruption but elect and support it all over...
