Our train is currently delayed 2 hours and the lazy, ignorant, inconsiderate workers in the station are refusing to let us in to wait. They don't even have the decency to come to the door to find out what the issue is. There are currently 3 passengers waiting inside and apparently that's their limit. I've contacted corporate customer service and spoke with Richard who made two attempts to reach the worker inside the station to have her open the door. Of course she didn't answer. The 2 hour delay is infuriating enough, but to be treated with such blatant disregard is unacceptable. It is unsafe and not to mention it's currently 90 degrees! I will be escalating this matter to customer relations per...
Read moreNew Carrollton is one of the worst Amtrak stations out there. It's in bad need of remodeling. The station is closed on the weekends. The steps are always riddled with urine and are pretty darkened and unsafe, the ones that go to the platform. This place lacks security sufficient security. And the lighting around the area going up to the platform is very poor. The the restrooms are unacceptable and are often generally closed to the public. The staff is apathetic I don't even know why they even have staff there anymore. We could just use the kiosk machines and not have to deal with the rude staff. All in all the place needs to be closed down for a few months to completely remodel the entire place the...
Read moreI am giving 5 stars because of the fantastic conductors on the Amtrak train - which I took between New Carrollton and Baltimore Penn Station. I had missed my train (number 198) and had to take the last one of the evening (number 66 I think) and they allowed me on, even though you are supposed to have a ticket ahead of time (the ticket office was closed). I had just flown in from Europe and had come all the way from Dulles airport. They were really courteous even as they had to be quite diligent checking that all was ok on the train otherwise. Public transit infrastructure is not as good as in Europe but the personnel are great. Three cheers for Amtrak...
