EDIT: HAVE RETURNED SINCE NEW OWNERSHIP. Got a response from the new owners asking to give them another shot ;)
Talk about knowledgeable! Connor was my reintroduction back to Castle Keep since the whole ordeal back in 2020. He was the complete professional you would want to answer questions and provide insight, it was approachable and non-dismissive. I ended up grabbing a couple of magazines for my EDC and unfortunately, they were the wrong ones (my fault). I called them back and Andrew (I believe) told me to bring them back to replace them. I showed up and Jessica was there to help me find the correct magazines and went above and beyond to make things right. Had to come back a couple of days later once the new mags had arrived. Also was told to bring my rifle in for a little TLC. When I came back, Connor and Eddie gave me some tips for routine maintenance and recommended coming to a few classes.
I cannot say enough about how much this place has changed for the better. I look forward to continuing my training and business with the people at Castle Keep. I am going to leave the prior review at the bottom so you can see how not to run a business. Thank you again for restoring my faith in Castle Keep Guns.
Recommended this place to my brother after he showed interest in a home defense weapon platform. The salesperson was a young man, informative, polite, and knowledgeable about the (limited) available firearms.
Unfortunately, my brother's Drivers License was set to expire before the pick up date. Luckily, he had his voter ID card that could be used to set up the initial purchase.
This is where things turned sour. Upon reviewing my brother's party affiliation, a man (I presume to be the owner) made the statement "You're a democrat and you are buying a gun?" In the most contemptuous and dismissive tone not once but TWICE! I felt terrible for my brother and his wife because they wanted to get a form of protection for their house. Only to be ridiculed by some stranger.
Red or Blue, my brother's money was green. The owner's smug demeanor cost his small business $700. I will never set foot in that establishment again. (Check out the Korean BBQ joint next...
Read moreI went into this store with a friend trying to sell her gun for some extra money. The gun was a Century Arms Chief 1911. A relatively cheap gun but a good one considering the build quality of them for a "budget" gun. I went with her because all my friends come to me with advice or help when buying and selling. We walked into the shop and started looking around and a guy behind the counter came up to us and greeted us. We told him we were looking to sell the gun and what we were trying to get out of it. He went and did some digging in the back room. Said they were selling on Gun Broker for way less than we expected. Then proceeded to tell us everything wrong with the gun saying it only had 1 mag when it should have had 2. I told him where she bought it and he instantly started calling the owner a crook. Saying how he almost lost his FFL and that he takes spare mags from guns and sells them separately. I bought 6-7 guns from him and never been ripped off. The guy was trying to get rid of us and being a dick bout it. Could have just said we cant take it. Worst gun shop employee I've ever dealt with. Upon riding in the car, I did more research on the gun which I wish i did before but the whole trip was a on the fly decision. The gun on every website says ships with 1 mag... and not 1 version of this gun was found on Gun Broker. This place will straight up lie to you, cheat you, and dog any other shop you mention. I have never been disrespected or belittled by a gun shop but I will never recommend this...
Read moreUnder new ownership - what a pleasant surprise!
I had written this place off years ago due to the know-nothing yahoos who previously owned this place and worked here, but recently found out that they were bought out by new owners and are now a family-run gun shop, so I decided to give them a try.
After scouring numerous other local gun shops for defensive ammo and coming up short, I called up Castle Keep, and to my surprise they had exactly what I was looking for. The owner even offered to set the ammo aside for me until I got there. Now that’s customer service, folks! Upon entering the store, I couldn’t help but notice the night and day difference in the decor and layout. Previously, the place was a straight up dump! The new owners clearly invested a lot of money and time to update the premises, and it shows. They have a good selection of reasonably priced firearms (new AND used) and accessories and are constantly working on bringing in new inventory.
After speaking with the owner on a multitude of gun-related topics, it’s clear he is knowledgeable about firearms and is passionate about them. That is NOT something I would have said about previous ownership/management.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had such a good experience at a gun shop. This is the type of small business/family-owned operation I love supporting, and that’s exactly what I plan on doing in the future for all my...
