Months of planning went into my work holiday party at the Chihuly Collection. We planned valet parking, a visit to the hot shop for a live glass blowing demonstration, stroll around the Chihuly Collection with hor d’oeuvers and cocktails, then dine outside in the lovely courtyard. Two days before hand, the weather had been ideal for outdoors, then it changed to thunderstorms and cold predicted for the night of the event.
While we had heaters on the list for eating outdoors, there was no getting around the fact that we could be rained out. Ryan Anderson, Partner & COO at Udream Events contacted me two nights before the event, he suggested we move the party to the Morean Center for Clay. I wasn’t a huge fan of the idea; so many details had gone into planning at the Chihuly, but Ryan convinced me that the move would work out fine and that the space would be gorgeous. I spoke to my manager and together we decided to make the move.
I spent hours on the phone and email to ensure all the guests were made aware of the venue change. At the same time, Ryan and his team were calling vendors to make them aware of the venue change and transforming the Morean Center for Clay into a beautiful, Christmas themed turquoise, silver and white breathtaking party, better than I had ever imagined! Rose Garden florist who is a preferred vendor of Udream Events, provided the most beautiful, custom arrangements, plus extras for last minute tables due to the venue change. The guests were thrilled to take them home. Amici’s Catering holiday menu was on point and the Tampa Bay DJ Company provided our favorite holiday tunes as well as great dancing music. Udreame Events bar manager, Jen, created two spectacular and tasty signature drinks that many of the guests wanted the receipes for making them.
The following week, I received excellent feedback from so many guests about the lovely venue, food, decorations and music. It was evident by the smiles on everyone’s faces that the evening was a success. Udream Events clearly is a company that takes pride in their detailed work. They are professional, have outstanding people skills, organized, flexible, proactive communicators and make magic happen!

Read moreHorrible experience. UDream is the worst to work with so be warned. We chose The Morean Center for Clay as our reception venue and UDream handles bookings for all of the Morean Art Centers. So, we had no choice but to work with them. We toured the venue with Christine and absolutely loved it. The place is historic, beautiful, and a really cool part of St. Pete’s history. Christine explained that we had to use the in-house bartending service(UDream), and said their prices we very reasonable compared to other services she’s seen. Long story short, we booked the venue, went back and fourth with Christine the whole time. Super difficult to work with, and up-charges for everything. We booked without getting a quote for the bar, and our fault. Udream ended up being about $1800 higher than our next highest bar quote. We contemplated giving up our deposit and moving the wedding but, we ultimately decided to stick it out. When we were making final payments on the bar UDream added staffing hours to pump up the price. I had to forward them the original contract to get them to remove it. Wedding day: the staff who was “managing” the venue was extremely rude. We tipped the bar staff at the beginning of the evening to get gratuity out of the way, and they took down our signs saying we had taken care of it. Then continued to take money from our guest the entire night. The bar was open from 5-10. They ran out of beer at 8:30 and whiskey at 9. Ryan, Christine’s counter part, had just got back with beer when I confronted him. He said he had just went out and spent a $100 on beer, and acted like he did me a favor by doing it. When I asked him about bourbon he said we only have another hour on the bar and by the time he gets back it’ll be over. This is DTSP, there’s a liquor store on every corner and that’s the response I received. We paid top dollar for a bar service, and got a low budget UDream crew. Many other things to list but I’m sure you get the picture. Pathetic really. I would avoid them at all cost if I were you.
Response to owner: The Morean Arts is a non-profit organization. UDream Events is very much a for profit company according to the Florida Division of Corporations. What a misleading response… Just goes to show you what UDream...
