I have been getting my prescriptions filled here for at least 30 years. The pharmacy service has gone completely downhill. I received an email my med. was ready for refill. I checked ok for the refill and I got a response it will be ready for pickup at 12 PM the next day. The next day I got a phone call there will be a delay because they are waiting for approval from my insurance (what ). My insurance is Medicare and they (Walgreens) did this to me once before. I waited all day and the next day , still waiting for approval from my insurance. Finally I called and talked to a rude condescending man. He said he was busy and the only one at the pharmacy. I asked him what was the problem with my insurance and he told me they were waiting for my DOCTOR to fill out some forms that Medicare wanted. So I called my doctor and they were confused and said they would send a SECOND prescription to Walgreens with any and all Medicare info. The next day I called Walgreens and they told me they are waiting to hear from my doctor. Are you seeing a pattern here ? I called my doctor again and she said that they have faxed the second prescription 3x and maybe I should come in and pick it up because there isn't anything else they can do. So I drove 20 min. to my doctor, picked up the prescription and hand delivered it to Walgreens. This foreign lady with black hair was trying to tell me some crazy story that I had the wrong form. I said lady this form IS from Walgreens. She tried to tell me some bizarre story of what I needed to do. Finally she took the form over to another lady ( thank goodness) that said yes this was the CORRECT form and she needed to call Medicare for approval. Then the foreign lady shows it to a man that says it will take 48 hours to fill this prescription ( glucose testing strips). I went home and called Medicare and they haven't received ANY requests from this Walgreens for any approval. There is no 48 hour wait for glucose testing strips and told me this is something Walgreens at the Walsingham address is doing . I asked again if Walgreens EVER requested ANY approval for my test strips and Medicare said NO. They told me to please go to a different Walgreens or CVS or Publix nearby. DO NO GO TO THE...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is about 8pm and my daughterās Dr. called in an emergency script so it can be filled and be given asap. I chose this pharmacy because they were the closest pharmacy and didnāt close till 10pm. My daughter had never filled with Walgreens before so the process to add my daughter and type her script would take more time. The employee I spoke to was a heavier set women whom had long curly brown hair, she told me my daughter insurance was not accepted by Walgreens without even trying to running it. I asked her if she can just try because I know Walgreens takes her insurance. The lady proceeded to tell me itās a long 10min process to add her into the Walgreens system and type up her script, I told her I was willing to wait.. I waited roughly 5mins until the phone automatically disconnected itself. I then called my insurance and ask if Walgreens take my daughters insurance and they insurance said yes Walgreens is in network. I proceed to call Walgreens again. The same lady answered and she said she tried to run the insurance and it is just not working. I told her I will pay cash and then she proceeds to tell me it will cost $25 and the pharmacy āprobablyā donāt have enough to fill the prescription and I said I will pick up what they can give me since the Dr. wanted my daughter to start right away. She said okay. When I got there.. the price for the medication was actually $44 and turns out Walgreens did take my insurance making the copay $0.00 and the full amount was filled. Seems to me like the lady just didnāt want to take the time to fill my daughters prescription because it was late or for whatever reason. Iām highly disappointed, as I always had high standards with Walgreens. Iām just flabbergasted as how someone would go to just great lengths to avoid filling a medication. Very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't know why I keep waisting my time at this pharmacy. Just so everyone is aware, when calling to check on prescriptions, make sure you don't type in your phone number to link your account because they will know why you're calling, who you are, and keep you holding for hours (That is if the call isn't mysteriously "dropped" and you have the patience to wait that long.) There is a way to call and speak with the pharmacy without having to give you're phone number( and you're call WILL BE ANSWERED within minutes) Furthermore, if you're tired of being told multiple different prescription status times over a period of 2-3 days (while being given conflicting information from different technicians) then go to walgreens online to chat with walgreen employees who will nondiscriminately let you know the REAL status and expected time it will be done- to which you can save the conversation transcripts when you're told otherwise. The Walgreens app would be great if my prescriptions, along with the status, would actually be updated so that I didn't have to bother anyone behind working at this pharmacy...because trust me when I say I don't want to have to deal with them just as much as they don't want to deal with most customers) I get the same 2 prescriptions filled at the same times every month for the past 3 years and I honestly cannot remember a time where I wasn't hasseled. I feel like the techs and pharmacists are intentionally malicious and go out of their way to ruin the customer experience, as well as overall day. As other reviews have already posted, cvs is...
