Where to start with my review_OMG. #1 There is NO_WAY. This place is worth over $100/ night. #2 Although the pool is cool, small, and mostly clean, it is not heated at all. There is no hot tub or sauna or any other amenities here. #3 The sites are TINY. I have a full sized crew cab dually 4x4 long bed and only traveling with a 1 axle less then 20 foot travel trailer and the site they gave us (J10) is small enough that with our little trailer backed to within 18" from back of my trailer to fence_ still connected, my truck sits 1/3 of the way into the street past the white sideline. We had to call the office and they were nice enough to give us a site down at the end to park our truck at._ not in ALL the places I've camped for this year's family vacation spanning from Western washington over to eastern Montana and down To south eastern Texas and over to NM, AZ NV and into CA have we EVER had a site so small that we had to park our truck someplace else. Not only short but only about 12' wide and there rules state if you use your slides or awning that they have to be further then 6' from your neighbors rig; LOL.. good luck using anything you have here. There are no picnic tables or fire pits. It's just a gravel spot with 6x6 timbers separating the cramped sites. #4 The electrical is wired BACKWARD (REVERS POLARITY). AND to top it off_it's only 20 AMPS. (At our site)_ the sites to our left and right have 30 AMPs, but we got a site that has reverse polarized 20 amps. NOT 30 amps. Which for even s small RV is extremely minimal and will pop the breaker if you run mire then just the A/C and anything else. #4.5 the site was NOT cleaned up at all; there was no less then about 20 nasty cigarette buts littering the grounds of our tiny site. And NO_im NOT cleaning up after someone else's nasty habbits. #5 they have an impeccable and exhausting list of "rules." OMG_ !! #6 Someone on some other posts talked about the laundry. We went and looked at them. The triple loaders are $5 per load, and the dryers are .25 cents per 5 minutes. BUT the washers and dryers are BRAND NEW! _lots of them and lots of dryers (ALL) Are brand NEW!! #6 complaints about the bathrooms _ what bathrooms are they using?! Because the bathrooms we went into don't have any real issues, several stalls, and a few showers and mostly clean, no problems with floors or ceiling issues seen whatsoever. #7 the people who pulled in next to us, a class C motor home came, left, them returned and took off and left there motor home for HOURS and there smoke detector or CO2 detector BEEPING repeatedly and loud so it's annoying clear into our trailer. They even returned for a few minutes. we saw the women go INTO their motorhome for a moment for whatever. We even heard the guy ask her if that noise was coming from THAIR rig. But then they both took off back around down the road on foot again. Leaving us and everyone around to deal with their attrocious beeping motorhome. They didn't return again for several more hours and FINALLY shut off their stupid noise!! I'm definitely NOT very happy with this place and definitely will NOT be returning. The only positive I feel is it is only like a 20 minute walk to the ferries that will take you to the peers that are down from the boat tour to...
Read moreYes, it's expensive. Yes, the slots are tight. But this isn't the Mid-West and everything comes at a premium in the Bay Area, so what do you expect? Your options for RV parks close to SF are extremely limited. This is one of the best places you'll find for a short or long term stay.
The park is well maintained and has a great location. It feels safe, and is only a short walk to Trader Joe's grocery store, Bev-Mo for beer, or catching the Larkspur ferry into the city. No, you don't get a picnic table or grass and it's lacking any communal areas (except the pool during summer), but, the laundry facilities are decent and the staff is nice - especially Kate, Jen and Kevin. The flat, gravel sites vary in size and have all the hook ups you need. Spots are back-in only (i.e. no pull-throughs) which can prove a challenge for some drivers due to space limitations. Bigger rigs with slides get allocated wider sites than the typical class C rentals. The outside rows are longer, with room to park a vehicle in front, and are mostly occupied by long-termers in obnoxiously large 5th wheels.
Spots at the back of the park get less Interstate road noise and are handy to a trail that's perfect for dog walks (just watch out for the piles of poop everywhere). This park is very dog-friendly and allows multiples, along with portable pet fences - a huge bonus in our book.
During summer months the park frequently books out, but, off-season it's very pleasant. Abide by all the obvious common decency rules and you get left alone.
We stayed for a year in a 36' motorhome, switching sites 3 times just for a change of scenery. Our last spot was awesome, with enough room at the back to lay artificial grass for our doggos and set up a few folding chairs (aside from one incompatible neighbor with persistently loud young kids and a stay-home parent who felt very intrusive 8' across from our front door, refilling his rig's water tank every day... First world problems I know, but relevant if you enjoy peace and quiet or work from "home" like I do).
Overall, we'd choose to stay again if returning to the Bay Area. Though it's nice to take break on the eye watering $1800...
Read moreWe stayed 6 nights here before leaving to move up north. The place is wonderful. I'd absolutely come back here, and I'd stay here long-term if I needed to commute into the city. I miss some of our neighbors, they were such kind, intuitive people.
PROS: The neighbors here are are friendly, everyone is respectful and quiet. My husband was having some difficulty parking the rig and people came out to help. I felt very safe at this place. The staff were all exceedingly kind and helpful as well. They were accomodating when we had to change the term of our stay. A lot of places will tell you that if you have an "aggressive breed" (rottweilers, pitbulls, dobermans, etc) dog, you can't stay in the park. This place is REASONABLE. They understand there's no such thing as an "aggressive breed", there's just aggressive owners that don't train their dogs to be social. As long as your dog isn't a nuisance and you abide by the rules, you're golden. It's a blessing for those of us with furbabies. The scenic trail along the marshland is lovely, especially first thing in the morning as the sun rises. A short bike ride or a few minute drive to the ferry. Super fast access to the highways. Food within walking distance. Shopping is a moderate walk or a very short drive up the road. And for longterm working age RVers, there's a boarding + daycare dog center literally down the street.
CONS: Parking. But really, where in the Bay Area is parking NOT an issue?? It's not this establishment's fault, and you shouldn't let it deter you from checking this place out. Compact slots. Again, this is more of a standard for the general development of the Bay Area. It may not be ideal, but you're really unlikely to find a place closer to SF for better rates, with such good people working and living there.
Overall, this place has far more Pros than Cons for it's type of RV park. Don't let the picky people in reviews ruin what could be a very peaceful...
