I was excited to try, as I'm burger, fries, and shake fan...so tonight we went. Atmosphere: The scent of the grill awaits in the parking lot, as others have noted is a very challenging. There is only one door at the entrance, and very little space to get in and out when its busy, as once you step in, they have self order kiosks, which seems to be there preffered method of ordering. We used those as that seemed to be the only option, though actual people will take your order. The kiosks were not loaded with options for the full menu as posted on the menu boards above them. As for seating, about 70% seems to be outside dining. This is near the Bay, so early evening dining is cold. We were lucky to get a seat inside. Service: Everyone was very friendly and polite. There was not a large amount of interaction with staff in our experience, but what there was the pleasant. Food: We order a Shack Burger, Fries, Chicken Bite, Lemonade, and a Black and White shake. And this is where no stars are earned, hence the 2 star rating. I was just blah. The fries were room temp when I picked them up at the counter, and seemed like they were the Ore-Ida option from the freezer section. The burger looked good, but had little flavor. I was expecting a flavor punch from the Shack Sauce, but it was just glorified mayo. I added pickles to mine, which was where any flavor was coming from. The bun was good though. The chicken bites were average in flavor. The lemonade was a little bland, with little flavor or sweetness coming through. Lastly, the shake was overly sweet and completely lacking in flavor. With options like Super Duper, Gott's, The Habit, Five Guys, and In-N-Out easily available elsewhere, we will not be returning anytime soon to quench our burger, fries, and...

I've been wanting to go here for a long time. I thought this was the "In Thing". I should have lived in my fantasy.

I ordered a Hamburger with Scallions, Frys and an Ice Tea. A bit steep at $15, but i figured, it was something I had to try.

What I got was a Double Hamburger, which was so greasy that the bun was socked though, Frys, and Bottled Water.

I suppose the correct way to enjoy the burger was not with a fork, but with a spoon, yea, that bad. I took two bites, and was unable to stomach the liquid.

Frys were nothing special, and barely cooked. Had a few, but was so turned off by the experience, they, and all but two bites of the burger went into the trash. I considered turning it back, but figured if they were that inept in delivery, what are the other conditions on the grill.

SO, if you are looking for a Grease Burger, and are not picky about what you are going to be served (as it probably isn't going to be what you ordered). This may be the place

On the lighter side, I now have a better understanding on how Vegans come to life.

Update: Some things have changed since my last visit. (Not for the better).

Went to give it a 2nd try. It's also my last. If you're looking for cold overpriced burger and soggy fries then this is your place.

The burger looked great on the board. Turned out to be about the size of a McD's burger, but colder, and tasteless.

The Fries were temperature matched to the burger, and I didn't have to worry about burning myself.

The Ice Tea was good (though overpriced, considering there was no refill.

Don't bother waiting when they text you that they are bringing your meal, because,...

I agree with previous comments. I started with a five star review with my last meal at shake shake. The man who took my order and made my shake was fantastic he even brought my milkshake out to me while I was waiting with my dog. I came back for dinner tonight because my previous experience was fantastic. Tonight food as well as service was completely unacceptable. For the amount that is charged for the food we were extremely disappointed. The staff was disorganized, the floors where food is made was filthy absolutely filthy!!!! What we received look nothing like what we ordered, and nothing like what we payed for. I should have taken a picture of what I received. We both ordered the truffle shroom burger with fries and what we received was barely even a burger, completely lacking the mushroom!!! What was supposed to be the little crunchy crispy onions resembled soggy little brown specks. The fries were cold, limp and without the parmesan that comes on them. By the time we realized that there was a bag sitting on the counter that everybody was ignoring we figured it must be ours, the receipt on bag matched so we took it home. I regret leaving the place before checking out our food in the bag. $34 and some change for puny excuse of a burger and limp fries? We even witnessed the female staff clap her hands together tell her all young male coworkers to get it together, because nobody was paying attention nor doing their job... Seriously Get it...

My brother and I went here after a long afternoon exploring the Marin Headlands. I know they're opening a new location in Sacramento soon, but I wanted to experience a full taste of shack shack. Although there was a line to the register, my brother and I were asked to use mobile pay, which is convenient as it saved time. I ordered a shake burger with added onions, bacon and cherry peppers. Crinkle-cut fries and a lemonade is also I ordered. My bro got a big order consisting of double SmokeShack, Chick'n Shack, fries and drink. We had not ate all day just for this. Honesty, the food was amazing. Even though I'm a fan of In-N-Out, the burger tasted very delicious. My only downside was the cost, given that this food is of high-quality which I understand. Overall, this was good customer service and I am even amazed that I would get a text when my order is ready. Though I am not a Bay Area person, I would come back again to try different items on the menu when the Sacramento location opens. One more thing is that the decor looks like you eating at a hip restaurant.

I ordered the Korean BBQ burger with Korean cheese spicy fries, and snikerdoodle shake. Burger $11 - sauce was too salty and overpowering any miniscule BBQ taste on otherwise flat patty. Good attempt on putting scallion in it to give it a "Korean taste". Fries $7 - subpar for the price. Should cost only $2. Cheese is not Korean corn cheese. It reminds me of public school toasted frozen fries, with a drooping of cheesewhiz and sprinkle with chili seasoning. Shake ~$6 - good, but not enough to get rid of the horrible taste of this bad experience Service - similar to other burger joint, but they ask for 10% tips TL;DR just go to in-n-out, you will get better food with less than half the price. Ditch this place. Shake shack? More like Scam shack!

Had the Golden State Double, fries, & cookies & cream milkshake. Dinged a star for not having Mt. Tam Graham and Vanilla Larkspur. The burger was tasty, juicy, & really delicious. But, they put lots of mayo (or whatever sauce). Crinkle cut fries were crispy so that's a plus. The milkshake was good. But, I thought it didn't standout from other milkshakes I've had. I dinged another star because the iPad I tried to order from didn't work. Also, if you're a cash customer, you need to pay at the cashier (only 1 register). Get in early because parking in the shopping center gets packed quickly. I got in around 10:45 AM & still had to park a ways out. Not sure if I'd come back. Distance, toll, & first impression is holding me back.
