I trained here back when it was Golds in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, but then moved away and when I came back my family wanted to join the Bay Club so we did and while there are some very nice things about the Bay Club it is weak from a true training standpoint. My time at the Bay Club was augmented by the use of a personal trainer who was great and we were able to get some decent results with the limited gym that it has.
My trainer then moved to Evexia and I followed. While Evexia is a beautiful new gym, the music is terrible and the energy is lacking for me personally so I left and joined Fitness SF.
First, this is a real gym. There is so much equipment that you can truly get an advanced workout in beyond anywhere else in Marin. I never really explored the OUTDOOR gym that runs around the back and side of the gym until yesterday but I was really impressed by the fact that there are so many great machines out there. The entire staff has been friendly and helpful. The General Manager, Ryan Davis is great and runs a tight ship. Another great thing is that my office is in the city and I routinely utilize the Embarcadero location as well. I have been told the TransBay location is great and I’m looking forward to trying that out.
To sum it up, I want to train hard and this is the best fit for me, plus the price...
Read moreTried this gym out great idea for covid protocol poor execution. They have an app that makes you create reservations which is nice. However you are on a strict time limit of 60 minutes which you have to take into account the time it takes to clean the equipment before and after use which shaves away 10 minutes collectively from your workout. So you get a 50 minute work out which for most isn’t enough. When you reach 5 mins before the end of your time limit a intercom goes on telling you to leave to make way for the next group. Then the staff walks around to kick you out. This shaves another 5 mins off your workout for a whopping 45 min workout! At ten percent capacity this shouldn’t be happening as the space is huge. They also have an outdoor gym section which is going to be way too cold during fall and winter which in theory could actually cause more people to get sick. Do not recommend this gym. The cleaning staff is the best part of this gym they are the best I’ve seen but the whole model for how they are handling this pandemic needs to be fixed. 45 min workouts with the stress of the staff waiting to kick you out isn’t a relaxing experience. I’d recommend another gym or working out at...

Bathrooms: 4/5 This is the only thing that's keepings this gym from a true 5/5. They are clean, but a remodel would be nice.
Personal Training: *5/5 - great staff and they will pair you up based on your goals and the specialty of the trainer. I've had back issues and online, one-size fits all rehab or training doesn't work for me. I was referred to Simon Morales and one session is all I needed to sign up for more....
