Delicias Del Mar — Restaurant in Las Cruces

Do not come here! Please read! I had the worst possible experience ever and you do not deserve to have that happen to you either. I came to this place to take my girlfriend out to eat at this restaurant. I came on a day when they had a drag queen show unbeknownst to me. I am glad i didnt show up with my kids because the show was grossly inappropirate. I had to watch men get money stuck into their underwear while walking around rubbing down on drunk customers. This place is not an adult bar and was expecting a family environment. The dj speaker that played was literally played at max volume. I was unable to order without having to point at the stuff i wanted directly off the menu because the waitress could not hear me at all. During the brief moments of silence in the show, i couldnt help but hear a screaching noise from a dj light that is so old and overused that its failing and screaching loudly. My girlfriend and i couldnt speak to each other which means that music was absurdly loud. I was given extremely poor service as i couldnt even order a refill and was not checked up on by my waitress at all. Our bill for 2 people was $100 and the food was mediocre. My fish was dry from it being grossly overcooked. The octopus we ordered for $30 was overcooked as well and did not have a good taste at all. We ordered oysters which was served over ice in an awkward big bowl. The shells were extremely slimy. There was one oyste4 that looked like it had a deflated clam inside. Did not feel like it would be safe to eat at all so we didnt. I felt robbed. I felt disgusted. I felt ashamed to have spent my time, money, and date on such a very shameful place. Looking at moving back to Las Cruces and this place is motivation why I need to get back soon Delicia's del Mar is an absolute best Las Cruces has to offer I think one of the best that New Mexico has offer the service was great friendly. The staff I'm sure they were smiling under their mask. Cecilia had some kind of fish I wish I could have remembered what kind it was it looked amazing it smelt amazing and I should have taken a bite taking a bite. Well Cecilia almost had fish me Andres my friends call me Dre I had grilled shrimp with garlic and I have no idea what kind of sauces with it but oh my gosh I couldn't stop being that stuff I cannot brag enough about how good the food was here. I wish they delivered to Deming. First time visiting this location coming all the way from El Paso thanks to a friend’s recommendation. The oysters were fresh, the seafood tower was filled with great seafood, and the grilled octopus was the best I ever had. Came again with the family as we were craving fresh oysters and the same platters as the last time. What a disappointment! Tower came first definitely not looking like a tower more like a ceviche on a flat plate, half cucumber, half seafood. The grilled octopus platter was just warm like reheated. Our appetizer oysters eventually had to be canceled because they never came. Don’t know if it was the waitress or the cook's fault but just very disappointed overall. No apology or make-up opportunity was given. Don’t know if there was a different manager on shift but it was a completely different experience the first time.
