This mall has no external cameras for security. So the thieves broke into my vehicle and took our stuff. Last time I checked they don't even patrol the parking lot any more. That just tells the theives "go ahead we won't stop you."
The rent for merchants is obnoxious at best. Any good small business starting out shouldn't attempt the mall. There is little foot traffic. And due to the "Mall Rules" any teenagers who earn money can't go in the mall unaccompanied by an adult. So the teens don't go with the adults because that is lame. So they go to the mall in Hattiesburg.
The leaks in the mall go unrepaired, this is not the only repairs needed.
As soon as the larger merchants move out, the mall WILL shut down. Maybe South Central or Forrest General can turn it into a medical mall. That is the direction it is going after all.
It seems the owners nor the mall management are too concerned. The management gets paid and any losses can be absorbed by the owner as a tax write off. I don't even think the ownership is held by anyone in state. So they probably don't even know about...
Read moreWell, I reckon I'd give that ol' Sawmill Square Mall a solid three stars, yessiree. Now, don't get me wrong, it's a fine place to pass the time, 'specially when the sun's beatin' down and the fields are too hot for workin'. They got a good selection of stores, and the folks there are friendlier than a well-fed hound dog.
But, I tell ya, every time I mosey on over, somethin' peculiar happens. It's like there's a storm brewin' in my belly, and before I know it, I'm dashin' for the john like a fox with its tail on fire. Can't quite put my finger on it, but somethin' 'bout the place just stirs up a ruckus down below.
The food court's got a decent spread, though I'd steer clear of them chili dogs if I were you. Learned that one the hard way, I did. And the parking lot's big enough to fit my ol' tractor, which is a mighty fine thing.
So, all in all, it ain't half bad. Just wish I could enjoy a stroll through without my britches causin' a commotion. If you don't mind a little unpredictability in your shopping experience, Sawmill Square's the place to be. Just maybe pack an extra pair of overalls,...
Read moreI needed to shop for a dress, shoes, etc. for my niece's wedding. I arrived at the mall & discovered only one store was open to possibly find what I needed. When I finally found the section I needed to be looking in for my age & size, there wasn't much available for selecting. All attempts of finding an associate to assist/guide me failed. I was there less than an hour and they announced the store would be closing in 15 minutes. Closing time is 6pm now. They had the fitting rooms closed due to precautions associated with Covid-19 exposure. However, they still allowed items to be returned to the store after purchase for exchange or refund, which by all means, makes perfect sense! I managed to find a dress in a frantic rush, only to find when I got home to try it on, it didn't fit. Now, I have a dress that I cannot wear. Wasted $127.00 I worked hard to earn & I could have used on many other things I need & rely on for daily living. It would not surprise me to discover the mall has been permanently closed in the...
