My family and I went here today and I can say I can that we will never be back. There where six of us but we went early to avoid not being able to get a table, we didn't get sat right away but know one brought our menu's to us. My mother in law had to get up and go grab some from the front desk. We where finally greeted by our waitress she took our drink order then disappeared, when we finally got our drinks we ask for more chips and salsa, she yet again disappeared. We had to ask two other people and the second seem to be a Manger before we got more and even then he seem to not want to help us.. When we finally got our food my mother in laws salad was, she ordered just a simple chicken taco salad the waitress gave her one with beef. She took it back and my mother in law didn't get her food back till everyone was done eating. My 2 year old daughter had an order of chicken nuggets and French fries and they came out cold and the fries where soggy, seem like they where not cooked long enough at all. After all that we waited 20 minutes so we could ask for our check and then another 20 minutes before we where brought a peace of paper that had all the three orders written on it. The waitress had written out all three orders and did the math her self on one ticket to wear the lady in the front trying to check us all out couldn't understand it. But the worst of it all is the waitress add a 12 dollar tip on each of us so she made 36 bucks for doing absolutely nothing! When I said something to the lady checking us out she joked and said I take it you don't want to leave another tip!! To say that I will never go back is an understatement. Totally a waste of money for food that taco bell could out do! I do advise is you're looking for somewhere to eat go...
Read moreThe indignity! I, wew lad, have suffered a most egregious affront to my refined sensibilities at the so-called "Alamo Bar & Grill". A establishment that purports to serve the good people of this fair city, yet falls woefully short in its most basic duties.
The food, I dare say, was an abomination. A paltry, pitiful excuse for a meal, consisting of a small, tough, and flavorless chicken, an insult to the very concept of culinary art. The rice and refried beans, I must admit, were passable, but hardly sufficient to redeem the overall travesty. Two stars, and that is being generous.
But, alas, the service was a different tale altogether. Our waitress, a pleasant and attentive young woman, did her best to mitigate the disaster that was our meal. Her efforts, however, were hindered by her lamentable ignorance of the establishment's own drink menu. Four stars, I award her, for her kindness and diligence, if not for her knowledge of the potables.
And the atmosphere, good heavens! Half the restaurant lay shrouded in darkness, like a tomb, with nary a light to guide us through the desolate expanse. A most inhospitable and unwelcoming ambiance, worthy of a mere three stars.
In conclusion, I must bestow upon the Alamo Bar & Grill a rating of three stars, a average of the dismal two stars for the food, the excellent four stars for the service, and the middling three stars for the atmosphere. Mayhap, one day, they shall heed the lessons of their shortcomings and strive to create a dining experience worthy of the great Republic we have built. Until then, I fear I shall not be returning to this,...
Read moreUse to be a real good place to have lunch or dinner with the family. They have seriously changed the menu. Now it's like half American on one side and half Mexican on the other. Most of the best dishes and options are gone. So you're left with only a few select Mexican dishes to choose from. The food is good but the portions have gone down in size somewhat. Use to be, I could never finish my meal no matter what I order and ended up taking part of it home. Now I have no problem finishing most of the dishes. Like everyone else, the prices are higher than what they use to be, but they are still reasonable compared to the rest...
