This home is really great for a a large group! Our multigenerational family (and dog!) spent a week here at the end of July.
The home is very spacious - the photos do not do it justice! Three bedrooms are upstairs (king, queen, two twins) and three bedrooms are downstairs (queen, queen, three twins). All beds are very comfortable. There is also game room downstairs with an air hockey and foosball table as well as a second seating area game table, and kitchenette with full size fridge. The heart of the home is upstairs with a very spacious living room, dining room (seats 7), kitchen with island (seats 4) and screened porch. Outside, there is a fire pit and wood, cornhole, grill with propane, plenty of chairs, a covered dock, and three kayaks, which aren’t in the best shape but they do the job.
The water at the dock is not deep enough for jumping, swimming, but we were able to get a pontoon boat and jet skis in and out without issue. The boat was a tight squeeze but we had an experienced boater with us who could handle it. On day two, they actually sent someone to move the dock to deeper water (over like 10 feet) without us asking so they are monitoring the water level and looking out for guests. This particular year, the water level across the whole lake was down seven feet so that was certainly a factor out of everyone’s control.
The kitchen had a good assortment of spices, coffee filters, k-cups, foil and plastic bags, etc. There was shampoo and body wash in bathrooms as well as plenty of dishwasher tabs and a few laundry tabs to get you started. The is trash pickup on Wednesdays (two full cans) but no recycling.
There are a few stairs to climb to enter the house, but the sidewalk down to the dock made it easy for older folks (and our old dog) to access the lake.
I really appreciate the easy checkout instructions as well. Leaving sheets on the beds for the cleaning crew to handle, just taking out trash and washing dishes is really all that was required.
Notes for future renters: Bring beach towels. There are a few at the house, but not many if you have a large group. Bring games. There is a game selection, but it’s limited. So if you’re looking for something specific, be sure to bring it. All bedrooms have ceiling fans, and the primary has a table top fan too. The hot water is plentiful and the water pressure is great! There is a neighborhood cat that may show up to great you or hang out on/under the front porch. Neighbors say he just makes the rounds. We didn’t see him at all the last half of the week.
Overall, we really enjoyed this home and would highly...
Read moreAmazing Family-Friendly Retreat with Dogs Welcome! This Georgia home exceeded all our expectations! The property is absolutely beautiful with plenty of space for our entire family to spread out and relax. The kitchen was well-stocked with condiments and everything we needed, which made meal prep so convenient. The pool was a huge hit with everyone and provided endless entertainment. The location is fantastic too - there are several great restaurants nearby that made dining out easy when we didn’t feel like cooking. What really made this stay special was that our furry family members were welcome! It’s so rare to find a place that truly accommodates dogs, and the hosts were incredibly welcoming about it. Just a friendly tip for future guests with dogs: consider bringing a crate if your pup tends to chew things. Ours didn’t, but it’s better to be safe than sorry - we want to make sure this wonderful host continues to welcome dogs for future families! The entire experience was perfect, and we’re already planning our return trip. This place truly offers everything you need for a memorable family vacation. Highly recommend! Will...
Read moreStayed for a Post Galentines Getaway and the lake house was spacious for all 14 of us. I was impressed on how quickly the owner did respond to all of my questions in a timely manner. However, it's a few things that we noticed. We did request to come about an hour earlier way in advance. I was told it wouldn't be a problem but to check back before the time comes because the home was still available to be booked. I totally understood that. I never saw the home being booked so inquired again to come early--I was then told we have maintenance coming the same day as check-in but if they finished in time, I would be contacted. Needless to say, we were not able to arrive earlier than the 4pm check in time. I felt the three times asking and never a mention of "maintenance", its a simple answer of NO you can't arrive earlier.
A few suggestions: a new broom & dustpan is needed asap. Also, since a firepit is available to use, it would be nice to have atleast starter logs or wood for usage even if it's a charge to the guest. Some light bulbs needed to be replaced.
The house is just like the picture shown & we still enjoyed our...
