Our family was so very excited to use this bakery for our daughter's wedding. I met with the young lady in charge of the bakery and we discussed all of the details for the cakes as the catering order would be for around 200+ people. I called three days before the wedding and was told that the catering order was ready to go and paid for---so I checked that off my list, confident that the cakes would arrive, beautiful and delicious! However, they never arrived!! Our wedding coordinator, efficiently and kindly stepped in and found a local Publix near the Monroe wedding venue. Publix had them ready for us in an hour and our guests all enjoyed their cakes (which, by the way, are VERY good---BUT, not what we had planned for). Everyone makes mistakes, but this one was huge. Birthdays come every year, but hopefully, you have ONE wedding cake in your LIFE! The missed delivery was disappointing, but some of the response from the bakery was sadly underwhelming. The reason given for the oversight was "I just didn't look at my notebook". I cannot believe that a bakery handling such large catering orders doesn't have a calendar system of some type which allows multiple people to be watching for upcoming orders. I didn't receive a call from the owner of the restaurant/bakery--it took me calling them. I was surprised that the owner wasn't completely mortified that this happened and didn't immediately reach out to us. They had agreed they needed to provide the surprise wedding cake I had ordered, free of charge (They also, kindly, sent a $100 gift certificate. We disputed the charges through our credit card company and received a full refund.)--but scheduled the delivery of the cake on a day they weren't even going to be open. Again, it took my call for them to realize this. When the young lady handing the cake order called me to verify all of the details, she was verifying all of the details without the catering form in front of her and thought the cake was being delivered to the original location---which was in Monroe!! We live in Clarkesville. While our daughter is married and all the other memories from the wedding are just perfect---I would never want any other family to experience the panic we had on our daughter's wedding day! If you do decide to use this bakery--they indeed do have delicious cakes--and they are beautiful as well---plan to call every day the week before and have the personal cell phone of someone...
Read moreI am completely disappointed with the service from this establishment! When my now husband and I went in for a cake tasting, charity was 20 mins late, she was not organized or ready in any way for the meeting. She had a vibe of not wanting to be there and she was very unpleasant to be around. When we told Charity that we had another tasting the next day, she just got up and walked off and did not return. The only reason we chose 211 to make our wedding cake is because of how the cake tastes. I called Charity over a month and a half before the weeding to order cupcakes to add to our wedding cake and asked if she wanted to see the cake topper to ensure that the cake was made properly to be able to handle the topper. She told me to bring the topper by. a week before the wedding she called me and asked if i was the one wanting cupcakes and that she forgot who was wanting them... My fiancé at the time brought in the topper to Charity at least Five weeks before the wedding. On the day of the wedding when Charity put the cake together, she broke the cake topper. The cake was made without the popper stability to hold the topper and it fell. She did not give any remorse about it; she didn't even try to fix it. When my now husband was trying to talk to her, she just looked at the cake pretending to work with it while he was speaking to her. She did not even say sorry. She left. The wife of the best man had to miss the entire wedding ceremony to go and find another cake topper so that i would not know what had happened before the wedding. I cannot believe that Charity did not even try to fix the problem!!! I will never set foot back in this establishment except to talk to the owner about the unexcusable actions...
Read moreWe were in town for a getaway weekend and happened to stop in for lunch. Let me just say....I was not disappointed! I ordered a chipotle turkey sandwich. I know most people are thinking it's had to mess up a sandwich and okay maybe you are right but it is hard to make an amazing sandwich. The bread was fresh baked, the turkey was a perfect thickness and the little chilies were a good touch. My only suggestion would be more chipotle mayo stuff. That stuff should be sold separately. I ordered potato soup cup as my side and it was made in house and fresh as well. I could almost taste the love and labor put into it. My husband ordered Roast beef and cheddar panini. He absolutely loved it. The beef was nicely shredded the cheddar was melted to perfection. The homemade chips were nice and crispy and just the right amount of salt. The crispy cabbage salad is basically Cole slaw with a slightly different dressing with he said was very crispy , cold and delicious. We were offered pie from the pie tray which all looked absolutely mouthwatering but had to pass being so full. But we tried another restaurant for dinner and had to return here for dessert because that pie tray stayed in my mind all day! I ended up getting the cookies and cream I believe it was cream cheese and chocolate ganache pie(sorta like a no bake cheesecake)Oreo Pie and my husband got the pecan pie and both were so good I would have been back if they were open the next day for the meal and dessert again before...
