Mercer at Lawrenceville – A Home That Heals
Time lived: 13 months (2024) Unit Type: 1 Bedroom with Garage (Ground Floor)
I love these apartments!
How I found them: I actually discovered Mercer by accident. I was touring the Artisan Apartments next door—which were a huge letdown—and stumbled upon Mercer. Both properties are by the same developer, but Mercer was such a pleasant surprise. In my opinion, Mercer far surpasses Artisan in quality and vibe.
Initial walkthrough: I worked with Justin, who was incredibly patient and professional. He walked me through the unit multiple times, answered every single question I had, and made no false promises. No fluff, just facts. The whole leasing experience felt easy, honest, and polite—thank you, Justin!
The stay: After separating from my ex-husband, it was just me and my dog starting fresh. Mercer became the solace I didn’t even realize I was looking for. I moved in around February, just as winter was ending and spring was gently waking everything up. As the seasons changed, the nature surrounding the property revealed itself—sunsets, sunrises, rainfall, autumn leaves, and snowfall. Walks with my dog through the nearby parks and lakes became a cherished part of our daily rhythm.
Five months after moving in, I lost him. It was devastating. Mercer held space for me in that grief too. Even though it became emotionally hard to stay without him, the property remained peaceful and comforting. I spent the rest of my time there carrying both the joy of his memory and the sadness of his absence. One of the reasons I chose to move away was simply because it hurt too much to stay somewhere that held so many memories of him.
Maintenance & property care: The maintenance team is on top of everything. You receive regular newsletters about property updates and work orders. Snow is promptly removed, salt is applied, leaves are cleaned up, and lawn care is consistent. It’s well-kept without hidden charges, unlike other places that charge premium rents and do very little. Trash collection is simple—you’ll just need to drive up to the dedicated spots.
Other perks: • It’s a smoke-free property (you can step across to Costco if you need to smoke). • Speaking of Costco—it’s walkable, though you’ll definitely want a car to bring anything back. • The location is super convenient—everything you need is within a 5 to 15-minute drive. • The units are modern, clean, and guest parking is easy. • The community is welcoming, and the property app has a built-in chat group where residents can share updates or requests.
A note on noise: Ground-floor units (like mine) do come with the downside of hearing the upstairs neighbors sometimes—especially if they have kids running around. I’ve reported such issues before, and the management always tried to help as much as possible.
Move-out process: I honestly didn’t want to leave, but life had other plans. The move-out was just as smooth as my move-in. You’re required to give a 3-month notice (standard). I touched up the paint with samples they provided, had the unit professionally cleaned, and scheduled a pre-move-out walkthrough with Justin. He confirmed everything looked good. Within a week, I received my final statement—and my security deposit check came just 10 days after move-out. I was thrilled at how seamless and prompt...

Finding a place to live that checks all your boxes can be a stressful event. Good location, safe, peaceful, clean, well maintained, friendly and respectful neighbors, and pet friendly are a few things that comes to mind when I'm thinking of the Mercer at Lawrence Station.
Justin was my first interaction with this apartment complex. He was well informed, polite and very professional; a theme that prevailed during my entire stay at the Mercer. Justin was always more than efficient to answer any questions or solve any issues that came up. During the showing of the apartment he was able to asnwer all my questions and if he needed additional information he was able to get back promptly with the answers. I was really happy with his quality of work during my entire stay at the Mercer. I've noticed how dedicated and passionate he is to his work. You can tell he is the kind of person that learns and refines his craft as the time goes on. Thank you Justin!
I also wanna mention Brandon. Who was also an exceptional property manager (I can't remember if that's the correct wording of his tittle). Friendly, polite and more than willing to help with any concerns I ever needed.
Nick, the great new addition to the team was friendly and welcoming!
Mr. John! The best facilities manager ever! Thank you for all your prompt help whenever something needed addressing. Mr. John I hope they know how valuable you are to the Mercer.
I'm not forgetting Juan. Thank you for your assistance whenever needed.
I understand that The Mercer may be a higher priced community but you can tell they don't skip on maintaining a high standard of living for their tenants. During winter, snow is removed proptly. After a few days of living in my unit I noticed my stove wasn't fully level and wasn't able to be leveled correctly so it was replaced with a brand new one the following morning. Even though, they have recently remodeled units, I loved mine. It had a great view of the woods and the view of the sunset through the trees that light that inundated the space made it so wonderful every evening.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Mercer, using the grills and walking around the property that is always well kept. The gym was one of my favorite places there, especially when it wasn't rush hour, because I had it all for myself. The pool, which I never used, always looked so inviting. Costco being so close as well as ShopRite and Wegmans makes getting groceries a breeze. Overall a great place to call home and would recommend...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, this would be it. I have only 4 days to find a new home because this company dragged their feet and refused to answer their phones until they finally realized they made a mistake that they won’t fix. The leasing office called me a day before we expected to move in to admit they “fell behind on renovations” so the apartment wouldn’t be ready for another week. This is 10 days before I have to be out of our prior apartment. Then they call at the end of the day at 6pm just 3 days later to say they found a moisture issue and it’s not ready to move in. I have to wait another day until they can get an estimated move in date, which is 18 days after my old lease ends. They say there’s nothing else they can do unless I want an apartment on the second floor, but even though I explained my handicap situation, the property manager said there is nothing they can do. They only call me at the end of the day so it’s 6pm. I have 4 business days to find another apartment and get approved to move in, all because InLand property manager isn’t able to work with us and help when they put us in this situation. I will update review if the manager gets in contact and can fix this, but at this point we might be homeless trying to find a new place due to the negligence and laziness of Inland and the maintenance team at The Mercer. I can’t emphasize enough how many unanswered phone calls went by in the last several days and even before the notice that they “fell behind on renovations”. Maybe if they just admitted to their mistakes and tried to help people instead of throwing their hands up saying there’s nothing they can do, but clearly management has other priorities, like whatever led them to be “behind” on renovations for new tenants and any excuse they have for not answering the phone.
UPDATE: I asked for a refund for my application fee since they failed to provide us an apartment. They said it was in the mail and would arrive the following Friday. I called after that date because we didn’t get the check. They said they “checked” and the “check” was mailed and we should expect it in another week. Well, I was shortly refunded via my bank account, no mailed check, so clearly they lied and figured they should refund it when I called a second time. Pathetic liars I am so glad I saved myself the aggravation and did not move in here. There’s a beautiful apartment complex next door that is NOT under same management, would recommend them over The Mercer over...
