EDIT - editing to address the response below: you use cherry chop?! I didn’t find a single cherry in between?! And the unnatural pink color you are saying it’s due to cherry chop?? Please double check the quality of ingredients. Why did I compare it with Indian pricing?cause we are paying way more and your quality is even worse!! If you didn’t understand that, that’s on you Finally, I usually give places 5 stars. You are literally only the 2nd out of the 10 places I have rated poorly. If you don’t like feedback that’s unfortunate for you. I thought I’d be helping by telling you where you’re lacking. The quality of ingredients is all I I’m talking about, not your recipe. —————— Dude, Indian Hut. Wake up!! Is this Indian quality?! It’s so sub par. We make some of the best cakes and desserts in India and you call this a Black Forest?? Pink colored cream as opposed to actually using sugared cherries in your whipping cream?! If you continue this way, there’s no way you’re going to sustain. Please use real cream btw!! Even the cream on top is mostly icing sugar. Such a disappointment!! And $4.25 for this cheap slice of cake, pffftttt!!! Even India gives better for Rs. 300!!

BEWARE and stay away from this place my wife had a serious case of food poisoning and vomitings after eating here . It is in my opinion of the most awful places to order Indian food in all of New Jersey. I ordered Vegetable Biryani Aloo Gobi Masala and Raita . First bite into the vegetable biryani I noticed small pieces of chicken or lamb mixed in to the biryani . Not to mention I am a pure vegetarian and was taken aback by the quality of food served to me . The smell of onions on the biryani was horrible and the veggies tasted undercooked . Moving along to the Aloo Gobi Masala it was not made mild when I specially asked for it . The chef ignored my request and it came off as very spicy . The Raita also had a stale watery taste which made it not edible . More over when I called the restaurant and politely requested a refund as I was not satisfied the staff refused to refund me and instead offered a remake of the dishes . The staff has to learn how to have a better customer service model and more of a polite attitude towards customers . Please avoid Indian Hut at all costs .

I was little skeptical to order from this restaurant but took a chance. This chain is much better in taste in NJ compared to other franchises: Pros: 1. The food is really good. If you are used to Plainsboro Indian Hut taste, then you will love this. 2. All the biriyanis (except shrimp I’ve tried) are up to the point. Good quality pieces. 3. Chat items are too good. Tandoori takes time to prepare. 4. Quality of packaging is good. Little surprised with Chicken Lollipop as it was supposed to be completely sealed. Lollipop very salty and slightly over burnt. Otherwise no complaints! Cons: 1. If you order food through Grubhub, its not a mistake from restaurant. It may arrive cold. Call customer service for compensation. 2. I would prefer the same chef from Plainsboro operating here. There is a huge taste & sodium difference between both!!

Update**

So my girlfriend and I decided to accept the owners offer of a free entree with rice last night.. this time was actually a quite good experience.. I called ahead to order again, and the phone was answered this time and the person speaking was polite and patient while taking my order.. they credited one of our entrees and I ordered a second as well.. the food was ready when I arrived and all items requested were in the bag.. the food was very hot and extremely tasty! This experience gets 5 stars! But when averaged with the 1 star for my previous experience 3 is the best I can do..

Original...

Terrible customer service.. I tried to call ahead to order my food but each time I called it would ring twice, it sounded like someone picked up and then click the phone hung up.. so I figured maybe something was wrong with their phone.. my pregnant girlfriend really had a craving for Indian cuisine so I decided to take the 15 minute trip to the restaurant to see if they were open.. I get there and they are open so I go inside to order my food.. when I get to the register I begin to place my order, during my order I watched the cashier hear the phone ring, answer it and then hang up immediately.. that kind of irritated me.. because the cashier didn’t feel like answering the phone I had to wait 40 minutes for them to present me my food.. took the bag and drove back home to find out I was missing one of the orders of rice that I ordered with my two entrees.. this place really needs to do better.. they didn’t seem too busy in there for all these negative experiences.. this was my first time ordering from this establishment and may very well...
