It was my first visit to the store, searching for a tuxedo or suit to rent. The young lady was pleasant, friendly, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, they didn't have much of what I wanted in stock, and the rental deadline was the same day, so I was scrambling for ideas. I suppose the gentleman was growing impatient; I'm not sure if he was the manager/owner, but he was undoubtedly unpleasant as he approached, relieving the young lady of her duties as if we were wasting his time. He snarled, "This is all we have in stock, and that is all we have," as she had already stated. He then proceeded with an attitude when I asked if a color in the pantsuit could be switched. In the end, I decided to look elsewhere because he was rude, and they couldn't help me with what I needed. But I opted to write a review because of his unpleasant behavior toward a customer; it would have been simple to say, "I know we don't have much," and suggest that I check the stores down the street to see if they can satisfy my needs, but instead he was rude. I believe he forgot that it is my money that I am spending and that if I want to browse around and come up with new ideas, I can do so. If you know you cannot help someone, demonstrating humility and responding with kindness doesn't take much. Successful businesses recognize the importance of customer retention and that there would be no business without them. This was unexpected, and left me in need of something appropriate to wear for her funeral services (I had packed only casual clothing for the trip). My search was complicated by a short lead time to shop and by the New Year holiday. On Jan 1st, I fought the crowds to shop at the big box retail store in Central Mall during their semi-annual sale. On top of having inadequate staff there to help and answer questions and the 'sticker-shock' of even their sale prices, I was unable to find anything that fit my 'portly' size well. The next day, I visited Edwards and was overwhelmed by the personal attention and care that I received from Eddie Hamra and his staff. When he understood my situation and the deadline that I had, he bent over backwards to meet my needs. This included overnight ordering two jackets to fit my frame and opening his store to receive and fit my jackets on Thursday when Lawton was shut down due to a snowstorm. I used to avoid shopping at Edwards because I believed it would be too expensive. I actually got two jackets, slacks, shirts and a belt for about what one suit cost at the mall store across the street! Read moreWe had a great experience being fitted for suits but once we received our suits and there was a size problem with the vest, customer service became less than desirable. We were told they didn’t have time to deal with us. Once someone finally talked to us, a new vest was overnighted. We went by on our way out of town to switch out the best.
