Lawton Farmers market is great. They have a inside area with A/C and farm vendors. Some of the items we got today included fresh veggies, home-canned veggies, cookies, and home-made jelly. Fresh fruit, Fresh meat, Fresh eggs, fresh bakery items, jarred foods, dehydrated meats,, and spice-mixes were also available. They have inside public restrooms, and ATM. Outside they had food trucks, music and a nice shaded seating area, and some parking. Entry to the market and parking are always free. Some vendors accept cards, cash, and tokens. I was talking with a lady and apparently they honor snap and veggie match programs, which will be great for those who qualify. I am proud of Lawton and Okies for taking the small outdoor "farmers market" and turning it into a Farmers Market year round. The height of produce in Oklahoma can be limited but honey, cookies, bread, canned goods, crafts etc are always welcome in my home and I love to meet the people who make them. We enjoy visiting and getting to know our community and supporting creative projects, good food, and a welcome vibe. If you are from this area, these are your neighbors and friends. The first time I went it was absolutely crowded at this venue very small it was probably because it was the weekend before Christmas so people were trying to get last minute things done. It was cool that they had a cookie demo going on where they teach you how to Frost the cookies. I went recently just last week in January and there were less vendors at this location so it was better and worse at the same time.
