I went in with high expectations from both online and in-person reviews. At first everything was very good, their thai tea especially, then came out one entre the Ramen before the appetizers, which was definitely a strange choice. So I had to sit with no food watching the person I came with eat for about 15 minutes before the appetizers came out. Which were actually pretty good, we got the gyoza and the red bean seaseme balls, both 10/10. It all kind of went downhill from that though. The Ramen though it had flavor just wasn't special at all, the meat was tough and everything just blended into one flavor, even mixing in the different stuff in the bowl didn't conpete with the strong flavor of the broth. So another 15 minutes after we got the appetizers we got sushi, now I had heard that their sushi was good, but my experiences were not positive. My first bite into their spider roll made me spit it out, the seafood in the roll was sour, it was the first bite and seriously freaked me out. A cooked roll being so terribly spoiled made me scared of the raw ones that came out later. Thankfully the rainbow roll pulled through and it was actually pretty good, the fish was definitely cheap though, like when the salmon is being stringy and no matter how much you chew you just can't get it down. Yeah, wasn't the biggest fan of this place, I would definitely come again just for drinks and appetizers though. It's also SO expensive for the amount you get. Like 5 pieces of sushi is $17, samari does better than that. I also went during lunch so there was no rush like other reviews had complained about, it's a cute interior and the staff seem nice but the food is not worth it for the amount of money and...
Read moreThis new sushi and ramen spot definitely offers a mixed bag, but with enough bright spots to warrant a return visit. The crab ragoons were a balance of crispiness on the outside and a lovely, creamy interior without tipping over into too much sweetness. The goyza were perfectly acceptable, hitting the standard notes without being particularly memorable. However, the takoyaki was a flavor explosion! The savory batter, tender octopus, and that delightful dance of the fish flakes on top made it a standout dish. Moving on to the main event, the sushi was undeniably creamy and rich, hinting at high-quality ingredients and skillful preparation. It left a satisfying impression. The atmosphere presented a bit of a contrast. The decorations were undeniably cute and trendy, creating a visually appealing space. Unfortunately, the furnishings seemed a little tired and didn't quite live up to the fresh aesthetic of the decor. Despite this minor drawback, the waiter, Michael, was a real asset to the restaurant. He was incredibly attentive, always checking in without being intrusive, and displayed remarkable patience in answering all of our questions. Their excellent service truly enhanced the dining experience. Overall, while there are a couple of areas for improvement, the delicious appetizers and sushi, coupled with the fantastic service, make this a place I'd happily visit again. Next time, I'm definitely eager to sample their ramen! Photos are the takoyaki, gyoza, crab ragoon, Monster roll, and I can't...
Read moreI went to japan last year for my honeymoon, and this is the closest I've come to authentic Japanese Ramen and sushi rolls since I've been back. Deep, rich flavor in the broth and the noodles cooked perfectly! The ingredients are fresh and smooth tasting (doesn't taste like chemicals or preservatives) the firecracker roll was amazing! I highly reccomend that roll if you go there, with around 10 different types of Ramen and around double the ammount of choices for sushi, sushami and rolls, this place is by far one of the top spots to visit in lawton for authentic tasting Ramen and sushi rolls. Prices average around $15-$20 dollars per person with other cheaper options for those budget friendly foodies! Great selection of appetizers including jalepeno poppers with crab meat, crab rangoos and sushi inspired appetizers as well. The atmosphere really brought me back to the little shops in the back alleys in the heart of Tokyo, the service was amazing our waitress (Kenya) always had a smile on her face and was willing to get us anything we needed, not once did I have to ask for a refill. I spoke to the manager (Sarah) and told her what a great store she was running. She was almost blushing with excitement, you can tell the staff here love their job and what they do. All in all this little restaurant located right off of Sheridan gets a 5/5...
