What a fantastic shop. Several vendor’s booths that are clean and nicely decorated. The vendors take advantage of all the space without the clutter I couldn’t see through. I could tell the vendors take care in selecting some unique, fun pieces. New owners that bought this store 1 years ago. This is one of the few antique stores that does not reek of mold, I usually leave antique stores with irritated sinuses and eyes due to the dust and mold. I did not have allergy flare up in this store. The bathrooms are clean and nicely decorated. There are some cats, did not know they were there until I was leaving and saw one in the window. I really appreciate a more environmentally friendly way of keeping pests away. They are also providing a home for some sweet furry orphans. We were greeted by Shadow, a very chatty Husky. I brought a piece of costume jewelry up to the counter to buy. I had planned to use the piece to create my own jewelry. After asking the owners about it, they were quickly able to tell me it was a 50’s era, original piece. I decided to still purchase but not disassemble. The owners have a good understanding of the products their vendors offer. The Loft has women’s vintage clothing, very clean, in beautiful condition, no old clothes smell. I enjoy treasure hunting for vintage clothing, which can be hard to find in such nice condition. The owners have one of the best antique stores we have visited around Kansas and Missouri. Three levels must be time consuming and costly to maintain, they definitely put a large amount of energy into their store. This shopping area is starting to look like the shopping on Mass. street in Lawrence. We saw 3-4 stores about to open up, even a retro arcade coming soon. We had fun and look forward to the next visit. Kudos to Leavenworth and the store owners in turning this area into a fun way to spend the...
Read moreFive years after being followed around, harassed, falsely accused of breaking an item, and called trailer trash, I thought I’d check this place out again…. Was followed around, yet again. Employee or owner made me so uncomfortable that I just left. I come from an upstanding household with two parents who served in the military for a combined 30+ years. I’ve never stolen anything in my life, and if I’ve broken an item at a shop, I’ve always paid for it. The way they treat the younger generation is not ok. If you don’t fit their mold, YOU WILL BE FOLLOWED AROUND. What upsets me even more is that I worked in one of the midwests top antique malls for over 2 years, so I know how items should be handled and I know when I’m being followed. This store will die with their owners. The new generation will want nothing to do with it if this is how they treat them. I’ve said my peace, I just hope they...
Read moreFound a couple of things, including some jewelry. The cat smell was choking and irritating at the front of the store on this day. Service was good, and we didn't have to wait after asking about keyed items. We only visited the first floor due to heat (September).
4 stars without the urine smells, the warmth. Don't wear a sweater!
ETA... The cat was at the front of the store next to the door at one time while we were there. Maybe it used the kitty box, but the cat or the odor was definitely pungent. Secondly, it was warm to me. It was warm to my husband. It was very hot outside. We still made a large to us purchase. Plus, a cat is worth noting since not just a few people...
