This park is cool, and different. It runs right along the river, by the train tracks.
Parking here is always free. It's also right across the street from the C.W. Parker Carousel Museum.
There's a very cool walking path here that goes down under the tracks, and runs along the little Creek all the way to Haymarket Square. It's a very nice walk when the weather is good. You can't access it when there's any flooding though, because of how low it goes, it gets covered quickly with flood water. The rest of the park is historically cool, and there's little marker things telling you about some of the history. It runs right behind the community center. It's shady and nice and there are benches and things to sit on.
Since they opened the stove lofts, parking here may be a little less available, however, its never super busy here, and there are some other free parking lots nearby if this one should...
Read moreCute little park with a nice view of the Missouri River. It's not a dog park, but it is dog friendly. The park is right next to train tracks, so things can get loud when the trains come through, which is something to keep in mind if you have a dog that spooks easily. That's probably true if you're with people that startle easily too, like babies. The park connects to a trail running alongside Threemile Creek. The entrance closest to the trail runs under a bridge that the trains pass over, and it's occasionally locked/blocked off due to high water (e.g., after a lot of rain or snow). There's a slim chance that, if the trail-side entrance is closed and a train is passing, you could be stuck in the park for a...
Read moreI go longboarding here all the time! (However there is a large slab of concrete sinking down I almost died on lol. It's super nice the people there are almost always polite, I know of one lady who keeps her dog off of a leash which should be fine exept for that it chased me on my board (i almost ran over it poor thing) but we were all fine. She had to pick the dog up everytime I passed though which I dont think she was fond of. There are nice bridges here and a nice picnic area. Trains come by a lot. There are some homeless when it gets later in the evening but none have bothered me so it seems...
