I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Macy’s, and I feel compelled to share my negative encounter. Not only was the service subpar, but the attitude displayed by one particular cashier was absolutely appalling.
Upon entering the store, I had hoped for a pleasant shopping experience, as Macy’s is a renowned department store. However, the overall atmosphere felt lackluster, with disinterested staff members scattered throughout the floor. The lack of enthusiasm and helpfulness was noticeable from the get-go.
My disappointment reached its peak when I approached the cashier to make my purchase. Instead of a warm greeting or even a basic acknowledgment, I was met with a cashier who seemed annoyed and uninterested in assisting me. Her facial expression and tone of voice made it clear that she would rather be anywhere else than at her job.
Throughout the transaction, she barely made eye contact and offered no assistance when I had questions about the items I was purchasing. It felt as if I was inconveniencing her by being there, which left me feeling disrespected and unvalued as a customer.
Aside from the cashier’s bad attitude, the overall service at Macy’s was lackluster. The staff seemed disorganized and unengaged, leading to long wait times and a general feeling of neglect.
As a customer, I expect a certain level of courtesy and professionalism when I visit any store, especially one as well-known as Macy’s. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite. The rude cashier and overall lack of quality service left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
I sincerely hope that Macy’s management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issues at hand. A store with such a reputable name should strive for excellence in customer service, which was severely lacking during my visit. Until I see a significant improvement in their service and staff attitudes, I will be hesitant to return to Macy’s.

Not having the style I was looking for I moved on downstairs to the cologne counter. I wish I would have gotten the older ladies name who at first seemed friendly until I asked if they carried a particular brand English Laundry to which she immediately turned sour and said “ we haven’t carried that in 10 years” “Try CVS” I felt like I was in the scene from Mean Girls.
