I have been a loyal client of Blewie since 2005, but my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. After my longtime stylist could no longer fit my schedule, she set me up with another stylist. Things seemed fine for a few months, but this past weekend changed everything.
My hair came out with noticeable orange tones, which the stylist offered to fix on Monday. Since I work during the week, I said I could only come in the following Saturday. However, after washing my hair on Sunday, I noticed very harsh lines. I texted the stylist with photos and explained I’d have to come in on Monday instead. I even took off work because I couldn’t show up looking like that.
I sat in the salon from 1:30 pm until just before 6 pm. While I understood some brassiness might remain, I left believing the harsh lines were at least tolerable. Unfortunately, after washing and styling my hair on Tuesday, it looked exactly as it did before the “fix.” Despite the stylist putting in almost 10 hours, I wish she had simply been upfront that she wasn’t able or comfortable doing the work.
To make matters worse, when I called the salon Tuesday evening asking to speak with the owner, I was told she wasn’t there—even though I know she was. I left my name and number for a call back, but by Wednesday evening I had still received no response.
At this point, I’m not comfortable returning to this salon. I would have expected at least a follow-up call, if not a resolution or refund so I can get this fixed elsewhere. Instead, I’m left with damaged, uneven color and the feeling that my concerns were ignored. Very unprofessional and disappointing after being a customer here...
Read moreI have thick curly hair and have been driving 45 minutes to a curly hair salon in Cincinnati. I decided to give B'Lewie a try since it is much closer and I'd heard great things. I asked for their best person with curly hair. At my appointment, I asked for an update to my current cut: subtle, well-blended layers to bring out the curl. I wanted to keep enough length to pull it back at work, but was ok with a few wispy shorter layers around the face.
The stylist and I reviewed some pictures, then she spun me around in the chair so I couldn't see what she was doing. When she was finished and showed me the cut, I had big chunky BANGS and big chunky layers, with a few wispy strands at the bottom. The chunky layers are uneven and very poofy, and most of the curl is gone. It looks like she was going for a 1980s Tiffany haircut.
I wanted to see what I could do with my own styling products at home. I couldn't fix it. I contacted the salon one day later and asked the manager to call me, then I emailed pictures. That was on a Thursday. Now, on Monday evening, I still haven't heard anything from them.
I will NOT be going back and I advise anyone else with thick and/or curly hair to avoid the place too. Also, if you are the kind of person who speaks up about a bad haircut, don't expect an answer or any attempt to make it right.
The pictures below show my normal 'before" (with the newborn), my normal "after) (with the toddler), and my current 'do, one day after having it cut at B'Lewie. I used the same styling products and...
Read moreIf I could give 10 stars I would! Let me be honest, my WHOLE life I have never been loyal to 1 salon or 1 stylist. But today changed it all.
I had not had a hair cut in 4 years since my little boy was born. Honestly it was just hard for me to take time for for self care and my needs/wants went to the side. But I made an appointment randomly at a place I had never been, with a stylist I did not know and all I can say is WOW.
Chloe was so sweet and kind and professional. She knew this hair cut was important and really took her time to make sure I was getting something I would love. We talked and planned and took it inch by inch and I am SO thankful. I feel prettier than I have in years and it’s all thanks to Chloe ❤️❤️❤️ I 100% will be back to see her and I’m so happy that I finally have my own awesome stylist I can...
