The Donut Shop — Restaurant in Lebanon

I switched jobs and wanted to get a half-dozen donuts as a going away treat for my former coworkers. I know one coworker in particular likes Boston Cream donuts. I enter The Donut Shop around 9AM on a weekday to purchase said donuts. Nobody's in line but me. I'm immediately met with impatient body language (loud smacking of hands, exasperated expression) from a Caucasian male staff member with brown hair. [...literally been in the shop less than 10 seconds.] Politely order two glazed donuts. Order two Boston Cream donuts (without pointing) while glancing at the other donuts. "Those AREN'T Boston Creams." [...? I know, despite none of their donuts being labeled.] Order two more glazed jelly donuts. Guy shoves the receipt my way. "FILL this out." I sign the receipt. "Have a nice rest of your LITTLE day. ; )" [...implying I'm short? I'm 5'11". Or maybe that my day is insignificant compared to his?]. In and out in under a minute.

Honestly one of the most bizarrely antagonistic customer service experiences I've ever had. I don't even mind the dingy aesthetics of the joint. New China on the same strip is the same, but at least the family's friendly. Guy has a personality disorder of some kind.

Best Darn Doughnuts EVER!! These are soooooooo FRESH and as close to homemade as I have seen! I was excited when a chain doughnut shop came to Maineville area but every time I went they didn't have hardly anything on display. They were mostly void of good flavor, and taste mass-produced. When you want doughnuts for the boss this will do nicely!!! Everyone knows how good a doughnut maker is by the taste of their regular glazed ones. Try the regular glazed doughnut in this place, and the rest of the doughnuts in the world fade away! The customer service is AWESOME and fun. You just can't go wrong with this place !!! I loved them soooo much that I used them for my birthday cake. Shown in the pic I got two dozen flowers and two dozen doughnuts. :) I have to run far more than ever to work off the doughnuts I consume these days. I have changed my motto and it is ..... "WILL RUN FOR DOUGHNUTS!" I hope you will enjoy them as much as my entire family does. My husband just got some from my son for fathers day. He was sooooo excited! Please try them and support local merchants at the same time....

This has been my second time in since the new owners have been in. The first time earlier this week, I went in and got a dozen donuts, when I broke one of the powdered donuts open I discovered a pink liquid inside, upon calling to ask what it was I was told that they were not in fact regular powdered donuts but they were strawberry powdered donuts and that they were aware they were "a little doughy". Two things. If you know they're not done take them off the shelf and for two mark them as strawberry powder donuts. Second time in was today and there was only me and one other person in there and it's been the same person both times, he seems very rushed to just throw the donuts in the box to get back to his phone. And if you trying to make small talk you can forget it the guy with the bleach blonde hair with the shaggy mullet whatever it is is not interested in anything except for throwing donuts in a box, asking for tips and getting back on his phone.
