I purchased a pre-owned console at this location that came bundled with a controller. Prior to purchasing, I asked if their used equipment was tested before placing it on their shelves. The associate I was with said yes, that they thoroughly make sure everything works before making it public sale. The controller was so broken it was unusable. GameStop's policy only gives you a small timeframe of a week to do anything about it. This location was extremely out of the way from where I'm at, about a 2 hour drive. When I was there, I've noticed products and their prices did not match. Not one or two, but many. I mentioned it to the associate at the time and he said that nobody wants to put the work in to place the correct tags and items there. I arrive a few days later upon availability, and stumble upon the store manager. I bring the console bundle with receipt and explain the situation, and she simply popped her gum and said she won't offer anything except an exchange with another used controller that is untested as well.Taking a look at their selection, all of their existing stock was broken just as bad and worse. I couldn't afford the luxury of making yet another trek back likely knowing the issue will arise again. I asked and offered alternate solutions; a partial refund, for them to test their controllers before the exchange, store credit, even a coupon for a future purchase. She started to get worked up and told me again that exchanging it was the only option, and that if she were to pick any other option she would get "fired" and the store franchise location would shut down. I know from personal experience as well as others that hold higher status than her that that is laughable and simply not the truth. I even offered to keep the broken controller and asked for at least a $10 certificate to help compensate for false advertising and my troubles with the whole situation. She didn't care and told me to either take it or not. She was impossible to deal with - she was a Karen but in reverse where Karen IS the manager. Calmly admitting defeat, I ask about a few products I was interested in that were labelled to be on sale and the mismatched tags. She mentioned that she couldn't honor the sale prices displayed or she would get fired, yet again. I remember asking the previous employee about it and he said he wanted to help but was locked out of adjusting any prices downward (but of course upward is another story). The manager had every ability to do so and expected me to pay 3x the price thinking her manipulative story was factual and I would cave in to yet another full priced sale. This is literally illegal. I couldn't believe how repulsive the interaction and instance was entirely, for a first time customer at this place I was treated like some petty shoplifter or something, maybe she was racist, I don't know what her issue was but I surely am never returning and recommend not to waste your time and hard earned cash on their frauds. I regret not reporting all of this to authorities when it happened a few weeks ago. I can't express enough but to AVOID. Take your...
Read moreWe had one of her kids from the homeless shelter break his Nintendo switch after only having it for two weeks. He received for Christmas and was devastated... Upon entering the store I spoke to Angie and Chris and after looking it over and testing a few things, without hesitation they agreed to replace the system because it was still under the 30 day warranty. Even though the system was severely damaged due to a fall from one of our kids they still chose to display grace and compassion with our situation. Honestly I was totally taken back by the fact that they replace it and had no expectation upon walking in that it would be replaced. I had already called Nintendo and potentially set up a return to see if they would cover the six as well due to the system now system not charging any longer. This was going to be a pretty grueling process which though I was prepared to go through was quite relieved when Angie and Chris took it upon themselves to replace the entire system with all of its contents. This was not only one of my best experiences with a gaming store, but hands-down my best experience with any store period as far as customer service. I never felt uncomfortable or awkward because of the situation, and I would surely go here for any gaming need moving forward!! Angie and Chris you deserve five stars for your efforts and I cannot thank you enough for your time and willingness to offer the best...
Read moreStore is a tad on the small side and redid the layout inside, which was a huge improvement. Staff is always super friendly, very knowledgeable, and, in my experience, will give you their honest opinion on a game or merchandise, which helps with decision-making dilemmas. Not sure what to get for someone? The staff will ask questions about the person to see what would be a great gift! The prices seem fair for pre-owned games with a great return policy if anything is wrong or defective. Pricing for other items such as consoles and accessories seems to be a bit on the higher side, but if you have the Pro Account, you can get additional discounts for lower pricing. Now, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is for two reasons: 1. The trade in amounts on any items is crazy low! It's higher with store credit, but if you want cash, you might do better selling the items yourself on eBay or something. 2. Their location is not ideal. Right across from the mall and next to McDonalds makes this a high traffic area so be cautious as accidents and traffic build up can happen certain times a day, usually work A.M., lunch hours and after 5 P.M. Other than that, really like this store, and...
