LOFT Outlet — Local services in Leesburg

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience truly warranted one. I went to LOFT Outlet, tried on a few dresses, & was thrilled to find a gorgeous one that fit, CLEARLY marked $6.99, along with about 8-10 identical dresses on the same rack, all with identical price tags. An older employee kindly helped me find a fitting room & made me feel welcomed.

At checkout, however, I was met with shockingly unprofessional behavior from a younger cashier. When the dress rang up at $23.99, I politely asked her to check the price. Her response was not only dismissive, but embarrassingly rude: “We’d NEVER sell anything here for $6. I don’t know why you’d think it would be,” in front of several customers. I was stunned & humiliated. I had been calm & respectful the entire time.

No paying customer—especially one who was polite & reasonable—should ever be spoken to with such attitude. I walked out without making a purchase, not because of the price, but because of how I was treated. My wife had a frustrating experience at this store. We arrived at the store at 5:01 PM on a Sunday, one minute after closing. There were a lot of customers in the store but the door was already locked. When they opened it to let someone out, my wife explained to one of the employees that she had come from 40 minutes away and just needed to exchange an item for a different size. There were still plenty of customers in the store and my wife's transaction would have only taken them a couple minutes to complete. Instead they told her that she would need to come back, which was more than frustrating because they knew it was a long trip for us. I thought it was terrible customer service not to do the 2 min transaction. Not a welcoming or warm environment to children. Did not like our experience at the store today while shopping with 3 kids over the age of 10. Older Colombian employee with blonde hair kept making us feel like a nuisance. She kept doing not so gentle touches and check in with us more or less telling us where to be and not to. As a reference the kids were NOT running around or touching things. They were standing around waiting for their aunt to be done trying clothes. There needs to be more patience or a gentle approach when talking to kids. If kids are a problem please put a sign up letting parents know they’re aren’t welcome.
