Stay as far away from this place as possible. I understand being new, but this place is unacceptably bad in almost every way.
We arrived shortly before 730. We were seated quickly. After being seated, it was over 30 minutes before we were greeted. Twice during this, a waitress walked up, asked if had placed any orders, than said she'd be right back. After the 2nd time, she started serving other tables.
30 minutes after being seated, we finally were greeted by our waitress. She was nice and friendly. We put in all of our order, including drinks, appetizer, and meal all at once, out of concern for how long it would take.
20 minutes after ordering, the drinks for the 4 of us (just 3 waters and a soda) they finally arrived. It took an additional 25 minutes for the appetizer (bloomin' onion) to arrive. This onion btw, was less than half the size bloomin' onions normally are, for the same price of course. I don't know if this is the fault of the new location, or if Outback is just getting cheap.
The meal didn't arrive for over an hour after the appetizer. This mind you is over 2 hours since we arrived. The steak, which I ordered medium rare, was damn near steak tartare. Now I've eaten rare steak before, and typically enjoy it, but usually go with medium rare just for an extra bit of safety. Regardless, this steak was inedible. It was basically plastic and impossible to chew. I literally could not chew it down to the point of being swallowable. The mashed potatoes were cold and hard as well. Hard is NEVER a word that should be used to describe mashed potatoes. They were damn near crunchy.
The kids chicken fingers were lukewarm at best, and were completely cold by the time they got the ketchup and ranch originally asked for when we ordered, which was well over 30 minutes after the food arrived. At this point the kids didn't want to eat anyways, nor did my wife as the night was completely ruined.
They took my steak off the bill, but nothing else. Nobody swallowed a single bite of the main meal, just the onion. The kids didn't want to take their food home. The wife took hers home but likely won't eat it so it'll end up in the trash. 60 bucks for a bloomin' onion half the size of normal and 3 hours wasted. We got home after 10:30.
If you absolutely have to go to Outback, make the drive to their...
Read moreVery disappointing experience last night at this location. Ordered the prime rib and shrimp special medium rare. Prime rib came out beyond well done, completely dried out and tough. When I said something to the server he said they only have prime rib well done which I knew wasn't correct because the week before I had the same meal cooked properly. Manager then came over and told me they overcooked the entire roast. Why would you try and serve me something that is completely overcooked when I didn't order it anywhere near that done? Just tell me up front that it was unavailable and I would have ordered something else. She then offered to swap it out for a ribeye which I said was fine. Ordered it cooked the same way. It came out extremely rare. At that point the rest of our party was done eating so I wasn't going to hold everyone else up by sending it back again. I'll just microwave it today and it'll be fine. The sticking point with this is that while I appreciate the manager swapping out my original meal, they upcharged me more for the ribeye than the prime rib. I would think at a minimum they would have made the price equal to my original order but I guess that's just me. So not only was I not able to eat my dinner last night, I sat there while the rest of my party ate. To top it off, when we paid the bill the server brings over the credit card machine and stands over my shoulder while I'm paying and putting in the tip amount. I tipped him 20 percent anyways because I wouldn't penalize him for the kitchen and managers failure. I felt he did his job. Due to this visit I most likely will not be back for a while. Hopefully next time we decide to give this location a chance they will have better processes in place. We have always had a good experience at the Sterling location so I will stick...
Read moreLove Outback, but not this one. Heading back to Sterling next time. Came in about 8pm, took a while to be greeted and seated by a host. Looked over toward the bartender who clearly didn’t want us sitting in her section. Appeared she even pulled the poor host over to complain that he allowed us to sit there after we requested to sit in the bar area. She continued to complain about things to us and the other patrons with just a generally negative and whiny demeanor. The high tops were vacant but covered in dirty plates she hadn’t cleaned up. Keeping in mind she only had two very low maintenance customers sitting at the bar and no one else around, she was slow to take our order, didn’t ask to refill our drinks once, didn’t ask if we needed anything or how the food was once we were done eating, we even had to request silverware (which arrived at a slug’s pace) once our food had already been brought to us. This was all after waiting nearly an hour for a simple order, which turned out not to be what we even went in for, because apparently after ordering the first time, we were informed they were out of what we wanted. She even disappeared for a long time and we were unable to request our check, although we’d been done eating for some time. Food was average, but did come out correctly, except for the very evidently burnt bread (both times). The overall vibe was dead and quiet, it felt nothing like going to an actual Outback. Plus, the bathroom was filthy. Wouldn’t exactly say don’t ever go, but would definitely avoid the bar area, and be sure to go in knowing that this is not your...
