I havenāt really enjoyed gyms. Iāve always felt off at the big gyms. Like thereās some unspoken competition going on, or people shaming others. Having to wait for equipment, etc. If you are involved with social media, Iām sure you have seen videos of people mocking others who are just starting their fitness journeys and posting unpleasant experiences at their gym.
Before joining Core fit, I trained at CrossFit and really liked it. I loved the comradery. Even more than the WoDs. My issue was that while I was strengthening my muscles and I felt supported, there was just some component that was missing. I ended up injuring myself and opted not to continue.
Now, queue in Core Fit. My wife and I joined Core Fit eleven months ago. We both had our own weight loss and fitness goals, but essentially we wanted a sustainable change. We enrolled in the 30 Days to a Healthier You challenge to start. The challenge is a cleanse of sorts, but one I actually enjoyed. The meal recipes were all using whole foods or had ways to make them as such), most were tasty, and all were healthy. While eating cleanly, we trained with a personal trainer once a week and worked out following the daily circuit the rest of the time. The big takeaway from the "30 Day Challenge" is that we established new and sustainable habits for eating. After only one week my wife lost 10 pounds! I lost 3 pounds.
The gym itself is as one would expect; clean equipment, lots of options to target specific muscle groups, etc. The classes, instructors are fun, yet challenging for all walks of life. The trainers really care about you even if you donāt train with them! I canāt count how many times Iāve been encouraged by a trainer when Iām just doing the daily circuit.
Yet, Core Fit feels entirely different from any gym Iāve been to. Everyone there, from incredibly fit to beginning their journey, are kind and supportive. The only way I can describe it is like being at Cheers. Everybody knows your name, and theyāre always glad you came.
The combination of great, targeted circuits for all levels, incredible atmosphere, staff, and members, along with sustainable and healthy food choices really sets the experience apart.
So now the nitty-gritty. What are my results? Before I get to that, itās important to mention that when I was younger, I had a knee injury that forced me to wear a brace whenever I did any kind of exercise. When I started at Core Fit, I had to wear it too. However, after 2 months of eating well and exercising at Core Fit I realized I no longer need my brace and I havenāt used it since. So thatās rad.
Since I started at Core Fit, Iāve lost over 5ā in my waist. Iāve dropped from XL-2XL shirts down to L-XL athletic fit shirts. I feel stronger and am stronger and I am stronger. Iām more flexible and I feel better both inside and out.
I still have a ways to go in my journey, but I know I will get there through the habits Iāve developed, the classes, and the trainers...

My husband and I were exercising at our local gym. We decided that we needed some nutritional coaching and reached out to Maria at CoreFit in Lehi. We were so impressed that we signed up for the 30 day anti-inflammatory eating challenge, the very same day that we met with Maria!
We also signed up for a membership at the gym, although I would call it a Studio because it is multi-faceted. CoreFit has cardio machines, free weights, barbells, exercise balls, Bosu balance trainers, sliders, plyometric boxes, battle ropes, jump ropes, circuits of the day, video demonstrations, personal training, and a supportive and encouraging environment. There is also an inspirational wall of success stories, thatās just rad!
CoreFit Lehi also has a variety of classes, namely HIIT, yoga, mat Pilates, Sculpt, and Barre! Thereās even a hiking group during the warmer months and snowshoeing outings during the winter. Itās a one stop-shop for nutritional guidance, fitness, core training, weight training, protein shakes, on the spot juices, supplements and even the allowable indulgences in whole food, gluten free cookies!
Made in-house as Mariaās other brain child -āMariaās Guitless Cookiesā!! When you train hard, itās definitely a mental break to allow yourself some healthy treats!
Did I mention that between my husband and I, we have lost 40 pounds!? Heās lost 5 inches on his waist. I have lost 4 inches on my hips and 5 inches on my waist also! Itās so exciting to invest in our health and see great results while creating healthy habits and a sustainable lifestyle!
So many details have been fine-tuned, with the intent to get each individual to their healthiest, physical and mental personal best! CoreFit Lehi is a hidden treasure that everyone should know about!! There are so many benefits to being part of this amazing community Maria has so lovingly created! Why arenāt you signed...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI began going to Core Fit Studio for the yoga class in October of 2021. I am 66 years old. The first day I was scared to do yoga and I was sitting on a chair for most of the class. Not any more...I am down on the floor and enjoying the stretching and the challenge to keep improving.
Core Fit's yoga instructor, Stacy, is absolutely wonderful! She customizes her teaching to the needs of each student in her class. She has taught both me and my husband skills that have really helped us to get more flexible and limber. We were in a car accident a year ago last August, and yoga with Stacy has helped us significantly.
I also love Maria, the owner of Core Fit, who has been doing some one on one training with me. She works with me right at my level to help me to improve my balance, strength, confidence, coordination and working my core.
The difference with Core Fit is that you are NOT on your own like in most gyms. Core Fit has a very caring staff who work with you and you are treated like family. From Melanie (the secretary) to Romy (who brings in her amazing juices for us to purchase) to the wonderful trainers, Core Fit is unlike ANY other fitness place in Utah Valley. It is the best place to go and offers the optimal support for total fitness and health. I am dropping weight and my energy is going up!! Maria has taught us to nourish our body, exercise, move more and get adequate rest. I feel so much better and I can function so much easier now. A year ago I could barely walk a half mile. I was napping a lot and hurting. Not any more. Core Fit has transformed my life!!
This Thanksgiving our son sent us tickets to see him in Alaska. I was able to handle hiking (in ten below zero) going up an incline hill for a mile hike, and I know it is because Core Fit helped me meet that challenge. As Maria says, "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you." I highly recommend Core Fit to anyone who is serious about wanting to feel better and regain their health and energy.
Here is a real plus: If you are a senior citizen, your health insurance might pay for your yoga class.
