Buyer beware. Even when you think you've canceled, you haven't. We signed our son up for youth club 2 last spring. Toward the end of his class in May we received many emails reminding us it was time to sign up again if we wanted to continue. We decided to take a break for the summer. After all, this was THE most expensive monthly class we've ever had a child in and he could either take it or leave it. Not worth the price to continue paying for the classes so we did not respond to the emails to re-sign him up. With the youth 2 class, you pay the monthly membership fee PLUS the monthly cost of the class. (Nearly $150 a month!) We thought we would be taking him there now and then, in the summer, to work off excess energy so we kept the membership, $35 a month (or so we thought that's what we were doing) Then after a few weeks went by and every time we asked him if he wanted to go climb, his answer was no. We thought, why continue paying even for the monthly membership if he doesn't even want to go? So we called to cancel the membership altogether. We were informed that cancellation must happen in person at their location or online. So we canceled online and were informed that we would have to continue to pay thru July because "that's how their billing cycle works" - whatever - at least we wouldn't have to pay after that. Then, this month when the payment was taken out of our account, it was again the FULL amount of over $150. I immediately called them when I saw the full charge. I told the employee that I was sure there had been a mistake since we hadn't signed up for the summer courses. I was informed that with the "youth club 2" class, you are "automatically signed up" until you cancel. So I asked the employee why it is that I kept getting emails telling me it was time to sign up again? She had no solid answer. What a rip off!
Update: We have...

4 weeks between new sets with prices increasing every 6 months because the market is still bearing it.
Save your money and go to another gym in Utah. Walltopia becomes a majority shareholder and is pushing the limit on what even I want to bear from a price and quality perspective. Come on guys. Communication and consistency are key for managing expectations. When you say a new set is coming, set it. Every week a nee set is required. That's what our membership is going towards.
Don't put up competition set walls and expect that's satisfactory. Please just do a better job.
Moving my rating from 3 stars to 2 stars.
Managing expectations through early and frequent communication is ideal for reducing heartache.
For the past month, bouldering routes have only been reset one time out of four. No communication went out to members, which would have allowed for updating daily gym plans. Instead we were left asking questions to the staff, who also weren't communicated with and didn't know why this was happening.

Read moreUpdate: We still love climbing at this gym and it has become our home gym! Early mornings are our favorite time to climb since it's not very busy nor filled with chalk in the air. We just started our little girl in their mo mini climbing class and she's loving that too. The new gym area & yoga studio seems fantastic for one future day when we can utilize them. The only thing I don't like about this gym is how freezing cold it is in the mornings, especially in winter and with the fans blasting. Also the pricing is a bit steep if you just want to come try out climbing for an hour or two.
We love momentum! I definitely do wish there was rope climbing here, so we just have to plan ahead and go to Sandy if we'd rather that type of climbing. That being said, it's super fun how LARGE of a bouldering gym this is and the super unique bulge in the middle. There's so many different styles of climbing manifested here. We also love how chill the environment and (most) employees are, we bring our babies and just set them up in a pack n play while we climb and everyone is cool with it. The only thing we don't like about Momentum is it does cost more than the Quarry (where I started climbing), and Momentum has way less member benefits than the Quarry, especially now that they got rid of free friend first Saturday. Just seems a bit backwards to pay more and get...
