I was skeptical of this experience at first. There are a lot of great build your own style pizza joints around these days, and so standing out in a seemingly crowded market is difficult to say the least. I'm happy to say that Via 313 does stand out from the crowd.
One of my favorite pizza eateries lately is Slackwater in South Jordan. The vibe and atmosphere of these two restaurants is very similar, but that's where the similarities seem to end. Slackwater makes a more traditional type of pizza with unique creations that are highly desirable. Via 313 makes a true Detroit style deep dish pizza with all the flavor and very little of the grease we have come to expect from this style of cooking. The crispy cheese crust is cooked PERFECTLY on every pizza that comes out of the oven.the dough is thoroughly cooked through and not doughy. The toppings are properly portioned, and overall the pizza is just an incredible replica of the DDD style. I was incredibly impressed!
That's only benefitted by the fact that the wait staff was attentive, stayed on top of our drink refills amazingly well, and made sure everything in our meals was done correctly. One of the people in our group had their pizza messed up, and the restaurant remade it and packed it up to go after we were done with the rest of our meal.
The overall experience was just awesome. We had a large group of 12 at a busy time and they got us in quickly and took great care of us. If you are looking for a sit down style pizza eatery in northern Utah county, you aren't going to find much or anything better...
Read moreReally rough experience. Honestly the pizza was great so take it as maybe a one off for service.
The service was terrible. There was a group of people waiting for pickup when I got there. One had been there for over an hour and was waiting on a $200 order. Ended up getting it refunded. Other couple also over an hour for 3 pizzas. They were certainly understaffed, which is fine it's the Monday before Christmas. But, what was not acceptable was the way they treated people watched a girl say she would check on an order only to disappear and then I notice her back at the front of house, she never returned. Completely ignored the people waiting. Another came out and said "I have no clue when your order will be ready" when asked by a woman, she said it head cocked to the side as if she could care less.
The one couple ended up finding out their pizzas were waiting the whole time, just under a different name the because the server didn't check the order number. Ruined their night after sitting for an hour. A truly frustrating experience. It's okay to be understaffed, communicate with your clients! Don't hide from the issues, over communicate. Check every order number, give updates, offer 50% off for wait times.
Luckily my order was only 30mins late, an hour from order placed. The manager was kind, but in over his head and not managing his team members who had terrible attitudes and wanted to hide from the problems. Bad communication is never okay, you...
Read moreThe stars are for the food but must point out something that needs addressed by the owners. One picture I've posted shows black knobs on the ground outside the doors that are there to stop the doors. These are by both the main entrance and the take out entrance. Very dangerous and one of our friends with us tripped on it and wounded herself. Not cool and this needs to be fixed! Now on to the experience. The place was clean and very busy! We had a party of 8 and it took only 30 minutes to seat us. A lot less than we thought for a Saturday night! We could have sat outside but it was in the mid-90's so we passed and waited for an inside seat. Our server, Henrry, was awesome. He took time to inform us of the different styles of pizza and drinks and was very friendly and great to have as our server. He told us what time frames to expect for our food and he was really close to what it actually was. Our table got a variety of foods. Salads, bread sticks, pizzas. Everything we got was presented well and tasted delicious. The crusts of the pizzas were cooked perfectly. The bar style was thin crust and cooked so it wasn't like a cracker hardness but not flimsy. The Detroit style had a nice thick crunchy crust. All were well flavored and hot. I would highly recommend them for the food and atmosphere. It's not inexpensive but you can't get this kind of pizza from a...
