I'm sad to leave this one star review because I used to love this salon and recommended it to all my friends. But I recently got a gel manicure here and when it chipped 3 days later I called about their 5 day guarantee. Since I was going out of town that day and was headed to the airport directly after work I didn't have time to come in and get it fixed so I asked if I could get a refund instead - I even texted them a picture of my nail and my receipt with the date of service. They said no, even after I explained my situation, and they referred me to the manager, David, who I called and explained the situation to again. He was surprisingly unfriendly (he's usually very nice but now I'm wondering how sincere that has been) and told me he was busy running a different business (?) but said he would call the salon for me and get it worked out. Long story short, after calling the salon multiple times and being told that David never called, that they called him but he didn't answer, etc. I finally decided just to leave work (!) and drive up to Lehi and get it fixed. They assured me that if I came in they could get me in immediately, but when I got there EVERY nail table was full and I had to wait.
In the end I got my nail fixed, but I will never go back, and I will never recommend it to others. They have traded volume for quality, and it shows.
Tip for the owners: instead of trying to pack in as many customers as possible and rushing through services using cheap products and sloppy techniques, just raise your prices and keep your quality high. You will still have more business than you can handle. Just not from me or any of my friends. To anyone who wants VERY high quality nail services, I would suggest Lacquered Loft in Orem. You won't be disappointed.
*This is an edit based on the manager's response below: Based on your reply, you may have me confused with someone else. I only had one chipped nail, and I didn't make an appointment - your staff told me to come in right away and said they could fix it. (you weren't at the salon, so perhaps you just got the wrong information) I was polite and patient with everyone I spoke to, including you and your staff. I didn't want to have to drive back up to Lehi from Provo because today I am getting on a plane to go to a cancer clinic for treatments and as you can imagine it is a very stressful time for me. This experience with you today and your unkind response has made a difficult day even worse. I am very disappointed - especially since all my previous visits to your salon have been such a positive experience. If you would have responded more kindly, or simply with an apology for my bad experience, I probably would have changed my review....
Read moreI honestly wish I could give this place a good review. Unfortunately, other than the water the little boy gave me, the service was AWFUL! Upon walking in for an appointment with two other friends, we were treated like a burden and as though the spa did not have time for us. After 20 minutes of waiting, we were finally taken back for our Mani/pedi. I can't speak for anyone's experience but mine from this point. As I sat down, I was utterly ignored by my nail technician, which could've been a good thing and very relaxing, however, this is where the pain started. My nail technician aggressively scrubbed my feet on the sides of my toes and back of my feet, leaving sores and red scratches. Although, I pulled away and repeatedly said "OUCH! That hurts! Can you be a little gentler." She still ignored me and continued her conversation in her native language to the other nail technician next to her. I finally pulled my foot away and placed it in the water below to get her to stop. She then replied in perfect English, " Are you going to get anything other than the basic?" I replied "no thank you" and she began to clean up. I let her know that I was still wanting polish in my toes. She sat down and sighed and began maintenance on my feet. I can't complain on the placement of polish on my toes. They look wonderful (if you can look past the battle wounds I got from her previously.) On to the manicure. As she was removing the remaining gel polish from my fingernails, she repeatedly got up to munch on a bag of Maui onion ringc chips not washing her hands, and then coming back to work on me. I understand eating when you are able to eat. I have worked as a hairstylist. You eat when you can, but MAN! Come on! As she started to manicure my fingernails, she began to clip my cuticles. I have never had so much pain from a manicure before! She not only clipped my cuticles, but also the surrounding skin at the tip of my fingers on either side. The first time she did it, I pulled away and she asked me If it tickled. I said no. She smirked and continued. She cut me again and I pulled away and said "ouch!" She cut me 3 times during this time and made me bleed, the last time being the worst and i got a little upset at her. She didn't apologize and proceeded to rush me out of the salon. I have heard so many great things about this salosa and I wish my experience was a better one. I gave three stars because I'm not out to ruin any reputation but I feel like it's my civic duty to give honest feedback. I...
Read moreSince this establishment switched over from the previous name/owner to become Ivy Nails I’ve gone here twice now. Disappointed and frustrated both times for the following reasons:
They don’t list their prices anywhere. So brace yourself for being surprised at checkout. Both times I’ve been told different prices for the same service- gel nail removal and new application. First time was $35, mid-service the nail tech tells me matte polish on three of my nails will be $5 more. He then changed this to $7 more about 10 minutes later at the end of the service. When I went today (about 6 weeks later) the price started at $40 for the basic removal and new color application. They tried to upsell me to do the dip instead for $15 more, then tried to make me feel like I was making a mistake because I opted for gel. It’s not very clean. There are no towels to rest your hands on, and there’s nail dust everywhere in your station. All that the nail tech used was a paper towel. They speed through the service to the point it feels like a churn and burn. I’m just another paycheck to them. No customer service at all. The “manicure” in which they rub lotion on your arms lasts about 20 seconds. Not great work for the price and the checkout process makes you feel obligated to tip when they’ve spent all of thirty minutes on your nails. Their website shows they are open on Sunday and they aren’t. Made that mistake when I showed up a few Sundays ago. Annoying.
See pictures below. My nail tech missed a coat or something on one nail. It’s lighter in color. He also didn’t cover the whole nail! I already have a weeks worth of grow out and I just got them done a few minutes ago! Not to mention the sides of my nail aren’t covered and look spotty. I got poor service and felt taken advantage...
