Update: We live in Lehi and go to the legacy center often. My son even takes a gymnastics class. We recently hosted his 5th Birthday here. I spoke with the planning consultant several times. She even called me a couple of days before the event to warn me about potential parking issues because of the round up parade. And even offered to let us drop our part supplies off the day before. Which I was really impressed with. Fast forward to the actual birthday and it was a disaster! We arrived and the woman (not the party coordinator that I spoke with on the phone) was obviously put out. She was not rude by any means but communicated very clearly that there was an internal gap in communication and she had just found out about our party. I booked their large room because we had planned on a probably more than a usual amount of guests. Long story short: there were not enough tables/chairs as arranged, the pizza I was told would have to come out 2 at a time so we needed to schedule to start receiving those at 11:45 if we wanted the 6th one by 12:45. They all arrived at 11:45 and were cold by the time we served them (as planned) at12:00. They were not prepared for our extra child guests (who are supposed to receive a balloon and prize). Their machine didn’t process my husbands card payment for the additional guest and a representative ran in and asked for our immediate return to process the payment again. This really bothered my as they are very time sensitive with the room rental and I was trying to complete my required clean up. They have also apparently initiated a new requirement where spectators have to have wrist bands. I have 2 problems with this: 1) I was told our spectators would be free. 2) that is just stupid. Why if you are sitting and watching should you have to pay. There were several other things but I don’t want to rant. Bottom line: the Birthday parties are ver disappointing. We chose to have a party here instead of hosting at home to make things easier and more enjoyable....
Read moreI've had mostly good experiences taking my children to this rec center. However, last Saturday I had a very unpleansant experience with an older lady that seemed to be a front desk manager. I took one of my sons for a birthday party around lunch time. My youngest (7 yo) and I left the party earlier because I had to discuss my membership with the front desk. I had forgotten my wallet and phone in the car so I had to go to the car to pick it up, as it was a bit windy my youngest asked for him to wait for me in the lobby. As my car was parked in the first spot some 50 ft away from the front door I said it was ok. I went to the car, got my purse in the back seat, my phone in the front and head back to the building in what? 3 minutes or so. When I walked inside I saw this woman looking aghasted at my son as he was walking around and looking the posters in the wall. I knew right away she was mad that I left him waiting for me. Yes, I know it may not have been safe, it takes 1 minute for a malicious person to take your child, but seriously, who is the lier that will pretend to be watching at your child every second when you are outside of the house? The problem was not her face but that she was very rude when she came to talk to me. She made many assumptions and treated me as if I was an irresponsible mother that needed to be taught a lesson. I'm not a kid, I'm 48 years old. I have adult children with children of their own. I'm not a helicopter mom. I believe in raising strong, independent, and responsible human beings. I didn't want to confront her right there because I felt intimidated, we never know how evil people can be and what kind of lies she could claim to create me problems. I care more about protecting my children than being correct. In conclusion, I didn't discuss my membership with the front desk and I don't plan to go back...
Read moreI've been going to the Legacy Center since they opened. I love it but each year I find it harder and harder to get a membership. This year, I will NOT renew my family's membership and I will not enroll my children in any of their programs. The main attraction for us is the pool; swimming is the only excerise one of my family members can do (due to disability). While they boast 'member only' hours, they are inconvenient for us, and the times we have been during these hours it is so busy, we've had to leave because we were unable to wait in line for a lane. After member hours, they only leave 1-2 lanes open (still wait time). It took a while for them to add 1-2 lanes during swim team hours, but there's still a considerable wait-time to get a lane. It is difficult for members to go either for laps or open swim when trying to work around the various programs that shut the pools down. I can see it is getting more and more difficult for the Legacy Center to serve three communitites (Lehi, Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs) and this issue not only exists in the swimming pool, but in other programs. For the recitals/graduations for their children programs, they have first-come first-serve seating policy, if you aren't there within 10 minutes of the doors opening, EVERY seat is saved or taken, people will save ENTIRE rows, and this last time, no one would spare 3 chairs. I complained to a manager they condoned it by saying "well, it is first come first serve, if you didn't get here in time, oh well." -Mind you, I came 10 mintues after the doors opened. They do focus of customer service and if I do have a complaint, they are usually responsive (minus the seating issue) but the crowds have just become too much for me...
