Very nice small town grocery store. They do have store parking on the side of the building. All main categories. Fruits, vegetables, snacks, beverages and wines. Bread, pasta noodles. If camping nearby they have a selection of fresh meats too: chicken, beef, pork. Even the local products like jelly, jam. Great grocery store for the community and visitors on vacation. I purchased two jars of cherry 🍒 jam. Excited to find this local business cherry jam!! Enjoy!! Support local businesses!

My mistake was to try and simply buy a bag of ice on the Saturday, 4 days before July 4th, 2018. While the store employees were cordial the patrons definitely we're NOT! Trying to be in line with nothing in my hand was like being in a roller derby! I know you may think that the patrons shouldn't effect my rating of the store... But in my defense, the effort to maximize product shelf space for greater availability for the tourist season compromises the chance for a pleasant shopping experience for us out-of-town people... That is... those of us that are the TOURISTS that demand greater product choices. I for one don't need 5 different kinds of "Chicagoland's" greatest new things!!!

Keep it simple, supply Local Michigan products and thrive on the novelty of that market!

I do want to apologise for insinuating that my opinion is the only right one, I have no investment in the Leland Mercantile Co. and I'm Positive the management know their marketing for the tourist patrons... But where is the Fire Chief? If there's ever a fire during normal weekend business hours, the potential for an MCA is...

TO ALL MOTORCYCLE RIDERS.......If you decide to ride M-22 around the Leelanau peninsula...... I do not recommend that you stop here for a bite to eat. We were cruising the highway on 4th of Juky weekend, wanted to stop for a snack, as we were reading the map to decide which way to go next, our son needed to use the restroom, we were just getting ready to head in and shop when he was chased out of the store by the owners carrying brooms. They were very assuming as to our intentions and made insulting comments based on their preconceived ideals of motorcycle riders. We will ride that scenic route many more times, but we will never stop...

The Merc in Leland is a small-town gem that blends local charm with everyday convenience. Friendly, real-life cashiers make each visit feel personal, and the quick-grab layout is perfect for cravings or last-minute picnic runs. Don’t skip the local baked goods near checkout—especially the cookies from Sisson’s, which disappear fast. There’s a small parking lot out front, but drivers aren’t always the most alert—it's often easier to park on the street or elsewhere in town and stroll over. My only wish? Slightly later hours in the summer would make this spot even...
