I don't usually do this sort of thing but 2 days later I still feel upset about a small interaction that happened with Gavin at your store. It was 6/9 my boyfriend's birthday and after dinner we decided to visit Kohls and Target to look for work pants. He wasn't feeling so hot so we decided to get some of the tedious stuff done instead of going out to celebrate...
Anywho, after looking where we needed he didn't find anything but I found two sweaters on sale. We waited in line and at the check out there were people forming a line behind us. After declining a Kohls card and putting my card in...for some unbeknownst reason Gavin said something like, "yeah your card went through this time." I was so shocked in the moment that I didn't say anything other than an incredulous "This time?" And got my receipt to leave. My boyfriend grabbed the bag. Whelp, wouldn't you know when we got to the door the alarm went off...I know it happens sometimes when the sales person misses the tag/sensor whatever BUT what really drove the point home that I was experiencing some form of discrimination was when Gavin piped up..."I'm sure that's all you have" when my boyfriend' handed him the bag to check.....he, in fact, missed a tag. I cannot describe the tone of voice only the slimy feeling it left.
This is a store I frequent and I've actually had a positive interaction with Gavin before. However after this humiliating encounter I will not be back. Finally, I am a brown skinned woman. I felt like in the moment I couldn't even speak up because I didn't want to be further stereotyped as an angry black woman. Instead of a relaxing birthday night...
Read moreWhat an awful experience at Kohl's yesterday I went and looking for something for a wedding l,something casual all of the dresses were literally for older women...like much older women. I'm 40 and really just wanted something simple, in style and they had absolutely nothing there at all. then I went into Sephora looking for something to help for dark spots on my legs the lady was going to give me some deodorant stuff for cracked dry skin and eczema.. ??? not even close to what I was looking for. She had no idea about any of the products in there. Then I wanted Ralph Lauren Blue perfume it was the one bottle of perfume I wanted and of course they didn't have it, but still had it on the sales floor. They were nice but had no clue what the hell they were talking about and then Kohl's just had nothing I walked out so disappointed I haven't been in a while and if you have any either don't even bother you're not messaging me I'll never go back there again and I don't see what all the hype is over Sephora I didn't see anything in there that I was impressed with at all I could have bought anything I wanted and I walked out with a $6 hand lotion that I picked up at the at the front register... Nothing what...
Read moreI went here to buy a new dress shirt for work selection was really slim but I think that was due to all the supply shortages that are going on in the world right now other than that the staff was absolutely amazing I had two women came over to help me one was a cleric and the other one was a department head manager trying to figure out the in-store kiosk for online ordering which is a piece of junk and very outdated in a very unfriendly for users even the department manager had a hard time using the machine that being said the service was amazing she helped me order the shirt that I needed it came within 2 to 3 days they were very helpful Kohl's overall is a decent store have great sales and great Clarence prices however I think they're regularly stocked items are a bit overpriced but again I think a lot of that has to do with supply and demand lately the thoroughly I definitely enjoyed my visit and appreciated the help of the knowledgeable...
