My son, age 9, decided that he wanted to start golfing last year. We're not golfers, so I had no idea where to start.

Enter Above Par. The staff here have really helped him. They helped us pick his first set of clubs. They used their simulators to determine the average distance he hit using each club. They have also been coaching him, and he's getting really good. Their coaches and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.

If you already golf, you can use their simulator to measure your speed, distance, launch angle, carry, etc., and you can use the information to improve your game.

They also provide custom club fittings. In fact, yesterday my son got a new putter there, and they shaft cut specifically for his height. They have a selection of golf apparel, as well.

In addition to golf, they have other simulator games, like archery, football, baseball, and more. It's like our own little Top Golf, but more versatile. Southern Maryland doesn't have many entertainment options, but Above Par helps stand in the gap for our community.

Above Par Golf was more than worth the 90 Mile drive for the fitting. Tim was awesome to work with and took the time to listen to what I was looking for along with combining the right recommendations based off of what I wanted as a feel type of player. Once I was done with irons we spent a short amount of time testing driver shafts and he had the exact shafts that I was looking for to compare with my current one. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend Above Par Golf for all your fitting needs. This place will not push you into a sale of something or try to convince you what they feel you should use. I have always played steel shafts and found that the new Project X 6.0 graphites played as good, felt better and requires even less effort than I thought to get the desired results so that’s what I ordered In the Sub 70 irons. The team at Above Par golf are truly exceptional, very knowledgeable, provide great insight, and are strongly customer service focussed. I went in for a fitting session, felt as if my concerns and interests were listened to and understood. The fitting session with Tim was fun and informative. Ryan, the owner, was able to complete my order before I left and a few days later Tim had assembled my clubs and I was ready to go out and play in less than a week!
