Conrad & Hinkle Food Market — Local services in Lexington

I just bought three t-bone steaks yesterday evening from this meat market. Tonight I took them out of the packaging for the first time and not only do they look old and they smell very off. They have a fishy smell to them as well. This is my first time buying from their meat market. Its past 8oclock so I probably won't hear anything from anyone until tomorrow morning ill post and update on how things go but so far I'm pretty disappointed. There is no fat in them, the meat is falling apart and they stink. This was suppose to be an anniversary dinner.

Update!! So im glad that we decided to do a review about our experience because we would probably have never walked back into Conrad and Hinkle Food mart. The actual owner personally reaching out to us about our recent experience with the meat department, (litterally the next day) and Lee made sure to address our concerns with the upmost integrity and most amazing customer service we have ever received! Its been our experience that small businesses usually don't care if you leave 100% satisfied because their income comes from local loyal customers who have a personal relationship with the owner (usually). Not the case at Conrad and Hinkle, this business truly cares about every single customer that walks through their door, I know because my husband and I have maybe walked in her twice in two years, so they wouldnt even recognize that we live in the area. We appreciated this experience so much that we will definitely be back! Its not every day that you are able to feel your business is TRULY valued by business owners, however this mart shows true Lexington pride and it definitely reflects in how they do business. This is such an awesome store. Good prices, super clean and comfy environment! My mom loves going here to get the fresh pimento cheese for her mother, and I love it here because of the friendly feel of the store, the fresh produce of veggies, nuts, and fruits, and the abundance of snacks and cool country style pantry items.. The butcher shop is also cool although I haven’t personally bought from it, they have a lot of meats and their cuts to choose from. Like pork, chicken, beef, salmon, mahi-mahi, flounder, shrimp, etc! I really wish they had lamb. I hope they will bring lamb to C&H soon. Altogether this is a very cool store and I recommend it if you value excellent customer service and country style foods and snacks as well as farm fresh...

I immediately fell in love with the old town feel of the place! But what really blew my mind was the amount of products available that I haven't seen since I was a small child! Also, their home grown vegetables, fruits and meats are (and I have to say it) beautiful! Their colors, size, and aromas make you want to pick some up for later enjoyment! Prices are not far from those of bigger stores, but their selection is way more varied with quality products no longer available anywhere else!
