Food Lion — Local services in Lexington

The store is always clean and the customer service is great, but today it was exceptional. There were only 4 bell peppers in the produce section and they were in pretty bad shape, so I found an employee to ask if they had any more bell peppers they hadn't put out yet. Nathan, who I found in the frozen food section, and who didn't even work in produce, returned a few minutes later with a big box of bell peppers. He explained that the manager was busy in the back and the produce guy had just left for lunch and he wasn't sure how many bell peppers I wanted so he brought the whole box. The selection is fine, but beware, if you bring competitor coupons, this store may not honor it, even though the online policy for coupons is pretty clear. Frustrating experience when I spend time shopping only to have two different associates advise they cannot accept the coupon, especially when I have used similar coupons in the previous months. I’m usually disappointed at this Food Lion for numerous reasons. They’re almost always out of certain meats like ground chicken and ground beef, and their To Go service is really lacking. No one answers the phone or checks the cameras to see if anyone is waiting for their pick up order. Today was my last straw when I called the store 18 times and spent 30 minutes waiting for someone to answer so I could get my pick up order.
