My husband and I found an adorable engagement ring in the mountains. It was the first one I had seen in our 18 years that really spoke to me. I went to Kay jewelers in hopes of getting it sized and cleaned so that the rings beauty could once again shine through and I could wear it with my simple gold band. We worked with Brooklyn. Her enthusiasm was refreshing and the intake process for the service requested was excellent. I thought we had finally found our jewelry store. Boy, was I wrong. Dropping the rings off was the last time we heard from Brooklyn. She made promises she could not keep. She claimed she would send emails with service updates, etc.. This never happened but we were flooded with promotional emails from Kay. Nothing more. My ring arrived back to the store about a month later and I still had to call to check on the status. It was back in the store on Oct. 31st. I had to call yesterday to check on the status and pick up. The service department did a great job restoring my rings. The only complaint I have with them is that they removed so much gold from my original wedding band. There is no excuse for it. It is soooo thin now and nearly cuts the skin when putting it on. Removing that much gold was not necessary as my wedding band was already sized for me and it feels like Kay jewelry and their associates simply takes advantage of their customers.
I am not big on jewelry but my husband is and it is because of him I wear it. He is always buying me earrings, bracelets, rings, etc. and he was stoked when he thought we were going to receive the customer service one would expect from a Kay jewelry store and service Brooklyn demonstrated at the beginning of the whole process. I paid for everything before the service was even provided. Lesson learned. We will never shop this store agai or any Kays for that matter. It shouldn't be so difficult to get decent...
Read moreSo, I have to give credit to the associates who helped me through a COVID riddled 3 month delay on my engagement ring and wedding bands all the way until today for the final product. Thank you dearly, Kelley, Amna and Josh! You were lovely and compassionate through the entire process. 11/10, would recommend your shop to everyone and tell them to ask for y'all specifically!
In late March, my husband and I finally had the funds to go and finance rkngs comfortably. We found 2 bands on sale with discounts at the time. He chose a black tungsten carbide ring that would need to be made to size and shipped. 2 sizing mishaps and an extra 2 week wait after waiting until mid-June and he was finally set. My wedding band (white gold,, small diamonds, in a wide v-shaped thing ring) was resized and ready in early June. My custom? It took from March until today, in mid-July to be ready for pick up and finalization.
The final product? A beautiful ring utilizing mostly family stones, with a couple add-ins totaling under $2k. It fits correctly, it is EXACTLY my vision and pays wonderful homage to my husband's family's original rings. 13/10 overall with service, attitude, customer care (in store only) and timeliness, despite the global pandemic.
If you are looking at Kay, or for a jeweler in general, go to the Lexington Pavillion Kay Jewlers by Target on Sunset Blvd. Ask for Josh or Anna. I would include Kelley, but she has been relocated to a bigger store. She was fantastic when she first helped me, but the team she left behind is just as awesome! They will help you through the process and keep...
Read moreMe and my now husband went to Kay to get a updated engagement ring/band and my husband also got a band before our wedding (3/26) So we found them and sent to resize the same day. 2 1/2 weeks later 2 days before I left to my Wedding destination they say it isn’t in. Turns out they broke my ring during resize, was supposed to be done “promised” by the 23rd of March. (I called 3/24 since I never got a call). Never came in so manager had to physically go get it before we left 3/25 to the beach for the wedding. I go that Friday (3/25) to get the set and my engagement ring was missing 7 diamonds and both weren’t sized correctly. So I had a broken ring for my wedding couldn’t get detail shots, was told to come back to exchange after the wedding and decided to return. my husbands ring started falling apart 4 days after the wedding and only wore it for regular activity, no shower or work so that also got returned. Pretty disappointed, but I will say the manager was very nice for traveling to pick up the rings and the woman who sold us the rings was also very nice. Just won’t be going back after this as it was special to me to have these rings for the wedding.. and not be...
