Worth the drive from Charlotte — an incredible Indian dining experience! I was visiting Lexington from Charlotte and decided to stop by Vedha Indian Café after hearing great things — and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was something special. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with the aroma of freshly made Indian food filling the air. The food here is absolutely amazing. Every dish tasted authentic, fresh, and full of flavor — the kind of food that instantly makes you smile after the first bite. The curries were rich and perfectly spiced, the naan was soft and buttery, and the appetizers were spot on. You can tell everything is made with real care and passion for authentic Indian cooking. But what really made the experience unforgettable was the exceptional service from Naren. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect — from helping with recommendations to checking in throughout the meal. His friendliness, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made me feel right at home, even though I was visiting from out of town. If you’re anywhere near Lexington — or even a couple of hours away like me — this place is 100% worth the trip. Vedha Indian Café is a true gem with phenomenal food and amazing service. I’ll definitely be making the drive from...

Went on opening day. I ordered some sort of rose milk (other people in party said was good), masala chai (had to ask for it again because it never arrived even after meal was brought out, was too hot to drink, and did not taste any milk), and water (had something floating in the top of both cups) to drink.

Then ordered gobi manchurian (portion too small for price and had a different sauce than what I’m used to), paratha (not flaky and was not as I’ve ordered at other restaurants), and paneer butter masala. All of the food was good. Service was not the absolute best and also wasn’t bad, per se. May have been opening jitters and that’s okay. I docked a star for food due to portion and prices. I docked a star for service because when trying to serve the paneer butter masala and rice the server’s hands made contact with the food. Grabbed the rice because the server made contact with the food multiple times and still had not actually served it.

All in all, I personally would not return due to preference. Again, nothing tasted bad. I just prefer other ways that these dishes are prepared.

EDIT: To the owner, we placed an order for Gobi Manchurian. It was a mistake that we received Gobi 65. And that’s okay....

First and most importantly DELICIOUS food! Worth waiting if you have time. We went on Wednesday night and the restaurant was full. Two tables were finishing up so we only waited about 10 minutes to sit down. But before we were seated, we were told it might be up to 40 minutes before we got our food because the kitchen was very backed up. I didn't time the food but it did seem to come out in less than 40 minutes. The Paneer 555, Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken and Goan Curry with Chicken were excellent. I really appreciated being able to adjust the level of heat in the dishes to my liking. The Pakora was a huge serving and were ok. I felt they needed salt. We also enjoyed the Rasamali and Kulfi for dessert. The Rose Milk was tasty and the Mango Lassi delish!

There was only 1 server but she kept up with the tables pretty well. She was very knowledgeable about the food and was able to describe the food well and provide recommendations and answer all our questions.

The prices are reasonable-We tried a lot of things so our check was probably higher than average.

Definitely recommend but be willing to wait! It IS worth it! Promise!

No photos, sorry! I just...

The food is served hot. We started with the chilly paneer which was really good and spicy, and lamb seek kabob which was good and hot and came with green chutney. we got the paneer tika masala which was really good as well and came with white rice, and goan fish curry which was just okay. Not that many fish pieces and which were really small, and chicken tikka masala which was not spicy at all, we order medium and the chicken was really chewy. And garlic naan which was served warm but no really garlic taste The portion size were small compared to other Indian restaurants. A family of 5-6 people would be able to share 1 curry dish but here it barely made it to everyone ( that’s why we had to order 3 curries). The services was okay, they can definitely use more staff. Dirty tables, chairs and floor sat there for a while before anyone gave it any attention and the restaurant was not packed by any means. Definitely a good try, not all Indian restaurants are the same. They have a unique menu and would recommend others to to atleast give it a try.

My wife and I were excited to see a new Indian café, Vedha, open in Lexington. We had fond memories of enjoying Indian food on our honeymoon years ago, and Vedha more than lived up to our hopes. The staff was courteous and attentive. We started with the fried chicken appetizer, which was absolutely wonderful. For our entrées, we ordered the Butter Masala and the Tikka Masala. Both were phenomenal. The naan (which seemed house made) was unbelievable, and the portions were generous enough that we had plenty left to take home for another meal. The atmosphere was excellent, the service was great, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. A bonus is that you can choose your spice level from mild to extra hot. My wife does not like too much spice, and they nailed it perfectly for her. Thank you, Vedha, for such a fantastic meal and experience. We will definitely be coming back often. If you love Indian cuisine, or even if you are just curious to try, this is a must visit spot in Lexington.
