OneStop Norcross & Senior Center — Local services in Lilburn

On 7/15 they had a big event that included the ability to sign up for WIC. The line was so incredibly long and they for some reason decided to have the event completely outside in the absolutely terrible heat. Women some pregnant and their kids having to stand outside in the heat for HOURS. There was a small area you could go inside to use the restroom but the older African American lady who worked the window would not allow people to just come inside and cool down, she would say “you can’t stand here”. Seemed like a pointless rule and a bit cruel on her part. I don’t know what this place was thinking organizing an event like this to take place outside this time of year in Georgia. If the line would have been 10 minutes or so, okay but the line stretched throughout the parking lot. Frankly it was dangerous and irresponsible and they’re lucky nobody passed out and needed medical attention. Have the resources of the Gwinnett County government, it really seems like they could have used a gymnasium at a Rec center or somewhere in the area that would have been inside. Most of the staff outside of the mean lady at the window not allowing people to cool down in the AC seemed friendly and like they were doing their best but the entire premise of an event like this outside in mid July...

I went here to recycle my glass bottles. It is very easy and all you have to do is drop it. This place also has a senior center and I feel very confident in their caretaking abilities when I went there. There were elderly walking with help from caretakers and they also possess a garden.
