Alfourat Grocery — Local services in Lincoln

The place is essentially your everyday American grocery store but it sells Arabic versions of every product including bags of sugar, extra virgin olive oil, vegetable oil, candy, soda, bread, nuts, milk, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, they really have it all. They sell a lot of interesting products from the Middle East and surrounding areas as well, such as stuffed grape leaves which are $3.50 for a large canful. They're absolutely delicious and healthy too! Eat some culture!

I come by this grocery store for Turkish delights whenever I get cravings for sugar. Yeah, yeah, I only know that Turkish delights exist because of the C. S. Lewis series of books "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" but Turkish delights are astoundingly delicious and have existed officially for longer than Nebraska has been a state.

This was my first visit. The store isn't very large. It was neat and clean with a nice selection. I was looking for tahini. They had several options and the prices beat what I was finding in the large stores. I was there before noon and they had fresh bread from a local bakery. They have a wonderful spice selection. The clerk was friendly and helpful. The place is definitely on my list...
