Shish Kebab Resturant — Restaurant in Lincoln

Since becoming healthy vegan, affordable comfort meals have been few and far between when it comes to dining out. One of my favorite things to do when cooking for myself is recreating a non-vegan dish that I used to love so that others and myself cannot even tell that it is vegan.

I am SO grateful to have found Shish kebab, because they did just that! Not only was the restaurant decorated very beautifully and had a very zen and relaxing, trickling water fountain — but the prices were so realistic and affordable for a college student on a budget.

I had a Falafel sandwich tonight and it was utterly outstanding! I have never had a vegan dish this good, even out of my own cooking. The creamy garlic sauce that went with it was heavenly. I couldn't even tell that it was vegan! I also loved that the Falafel sandwich was made with a thin wrap, rather than a heavy bread, beings I am a health conscious individual. To top it all off, Jenna and Fara (not sure of the spelling) were so very sweet and kind and GREAT to talk to. I found my new favorite spot and I can't wait to try everything else on the menu! 😋

Ended up having to wait an hour due to FOH not communicating my order with BOH, so they didn't know I ordered anything. They ended up asking if I had ordered anything after I waited, I told them yes, a gyro plate with fries, they apologized profusely and had my order out in a to-go container within 10-15 minutes. In the meantime, I got to enjoy some super delicious chicken and... potato? soup. I figure this was just an honest mistake since they were very busy at the time, so not gonna let that impact my rating at this point.

Once I got home with my order, I chowed down on one of the best Gyro's I've ever had. 10/10 worth the wait. Just a heads up, the gyro comes topped with tomatoes, onion, cilantro, pickles, and a cucumber sauce that contained lil chunks of cucumber in it, so make sure to modify your order if you're not a fan of any of those.

This place is legendary. I don’t know what kind of magic Baba is working in that little grill, but these kebabs? Absolutely next-level.

The lamb doner was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and carved straight off the spit with zero hesitation. Wrapped in fluffy, warm pita with crunchy lettuce, tangy pickles, and just the right hit of garlic sauce—it was basically a hug for my taste buds. And don’t even get me started on the chili sauce. Spicy, yes—but it hurt so good.

I came here at 1:30 AM after a long night out, thinking I’d just grab a quick bite… and I ended up sitting on the curb outside like it was a spiritual experience. I’ve had kebabs from all over, and this one? Easily top tier.
