All in all, I'm usually pleased with my shopping excursions here (at least enough to prevent me from whining or having anything negative to say).
Today, however, I just feel like finally airing my petty greivances. Can someone please tell me what perks they've experienced for being part of the reward program? I don't understand the point of it. They ask for my phone number prior to ringing up the sale, so that my account is accessed, yet I've never been privy to any special offers, discounts, coupons, a free artificial flower - nothing, nada. I DO get coupons via email, but they're the same ones any average Joe off the street can get Oh, and don't let me forget to mention, (because I typically would, just as I forget to mention the stinkin' coupons during checkout) that they'll never ask you if you have any coupons, and then I forget that I always do. I suppose most retailers don't ask, so I can't be too upset that. Or about my memory. Or about my strong desire to hurry up and get out of the way for the person in line behind me because I only had MAYBE my typical forty-ish items. One last thing - I'm rather tickled about it at the moment, which is better than the emotion I felt earlier today. The cashier asked if I wanted a bag for my purchases. Now granted, shopping was sparse today compared to my norm. I probably had 20-25 items. I had paid. No shopping bag in hand. I briefly thought I misheard the question, but answered my affirmative, "Yes", then glanced at the woman behind me, looking for any sign that I just said the wrong thing to who knows what. Thankfully, I apparently did hear correctly, which brings me to: How did she think I was going to carry all of these items of varying sizes? How? It was a bit puzzling.
Anyway, Michael's, please replenish your discount priced ribbon. The rows are all...
Read moreEvery time I sign up at the register for deals via email and I go back to the store weeks later and my email or my name isn't in there system. Also they don't honor the price for product that is in there clearance areas they have someone do a price check always never fails it's full price even tho there are multiple items of that very same thing brand ect. I'm not going back there ever again and let's mention that they stalk you like your going to rob the place they look stupid when I get to the register and every thing I put in my cart that they saw me grab off a self I paid for with my credit card. Or debit card just because people don't dress like they have a lot of money does not mean they need to look at us like a bunch of shoplifters. My goodness I work all the time I have money and I budget. I don't need to be flashy. So with that said I shop at hobby lobby and Joan's now they are happy to help me and don't judge people by the cover like the employees...
Read moreMichaels was always my go-to store for paper crafts. I signed up for their rewards program and never got a single coupon. I also checked the box for the senior discount and never received that either. When asked, the clerk said it just comes off the rewards card which I gave her but it was never deducted from my total. Recently, I returned a very pricey tape dispenser refill that was defective and DID NOT WORK. I did get a refund, but when I went back a couple of weeks later to buy another, when I got home I saw it was the exact same tape I returned, with the package taped back together, and it STILL DID NOT WORK. Beware at the store in Lincoln at 48th and R. Why would anyone put defective merchandise back on the shelf??? I'll be going to Jo-Ann's...
